"How much damage could Donald Trump do to Elon Musk?"

Literally everyone expected Trump to use his position to give his friend's business a boost. Everyone expected that government would be used to enrich one businessman over others.
"But Trump can also do great damage to Musk’s many business interests."
And people now expect that Trump will try and hurt Musk's businesses. Why? Because Trump expects everyone to "respect" him. He doesn't need to respect anyone else though. He's the man with the power and he's going to wield it like an absolute monarch, not like a person who is doing the best for the people of the country. At no point has Trump spoken about what is best for the people, he's spoken about himself and Musk, in this matter.

So, the question is, would Trump hurt all electric car makers, just to get at Musk, or just attack Tesla and not everyone else?
Do people want their government run in such a way where the President can act like this, without, it seems, any oversight (because the electoral system sure doesn't have much oversight).
