Not really. I work with a dude who is illegal as fuck. If you ask him where he is from he will only say "West Africa". This guy can barely read, and has the most basic ability to speak English. He came here with nothing and now owns a home, wife kids the works. You can roll out of bed here and make money. For now anyway. Homelessness here is typically like starvation, it's pretty much self inflected.

The reality is that there is a possibility you could be homeless. Not for where you are from or who you are or anything of that nature but because life happens when you are busy making other plans.

People who work in the entertainment industry have drugs in their face all of the time. They have to figure out how to set perimeters for themselves and filter out the BS. Some do well and some, just like anyone else, have to be knuckleheads and learn the hard way.
