Yes and no. They're duty-bound to oppose everything President Trump does (no matter how humiliating that is for them); but also, violent crime plays an important function in Democrat-run places. This has been the case for decades, long before Trump was ever on the scene.

The crime (and the filth, hopelessness, degradation, and fear) of the big blue cities like Washington, DC, is a means to control the populations there. Law abiding people are kept scared so they can be bullied and controlled. The criminals are the government's shock troops.

Trump is playing Democrats like a master politician. He knows democrats have been covering up high crime rates in their cities. Especially the high rate of crime by blacks who they are supposed to protect from the evil White Supremacists.

In 2022, there were 13,446 Black homicide victims in the United States, according to a Violence Policy Center study. This represents 13.6% of the US population but 54.1% of all homicide victims. The homicide rate among Black victims was 29.0 per 100,000, significantly higher than the overall rate of 7.7 per 100,000 and the white homicide rate of 4.2 per 100,000. A large majority (87.4%) of Black homicide victims were killed with guns.

Today homicide is the leading cause of death among young Black men, and contributes significantly to the shortened life-span of the Black male.
