I'm guessing you're single.
I'm guessing you're fat and ugly, but what does that have to do with the discussion at hand?
one more time. A kid is walking home alone, and a person who doesn't identify himself follows him first by vehicle and then on foot. What is this kid supposed to think?
He shouldn't 'think' anything. If this kid was going home, he should have done just that. But you've missed the point and I'm not surprised it flies right over you.
You have used the rape theory. I only referenced to your understanding of women, which is probably minuscule. If you've ever been in a relationship with anyone before, you would have probably at least escorted them home. Maybe just once. Why would you do this? Obviously, it is due to concerned that your beloved girlfriend, fiance, wife, whoever, will not be attacked, assaulted or raped when she is alone. It's a rather common issue for women.
But of course, your implied logic involves confronting the individual who is trying to rape you, rather than moving to a more congested area or simply calling for help. The opposite of what this kid tried to do.
For the record, I am obviously not fat, nor ugly. There probably isn't a man alive who doesn't want a piece of me, and where I am from, rape is a rather common occurrence. However, I do not confront my alleged rapist.
