In the case of Jan 6th, there were no attempted murders but one real murder. Police murdered an unarmed peaceful protester who was of no threat to anyone. She hadn't even set a car on fire.

If someone broke into your house after you repeatedly pointed a gun at them and warned them not to come, but they came in anyway, would you shoot, or would you be like, wait, I don't think they have a weapon, it's all good. I'll just let them climb in and see what they want?

With the BLM riots we gave law enforcement orders to stand down and let the rioters riot, Including letting them take over swaths of territory and turning them into lawless zones.
