U.S. Sent Cash to Iran as Americans Were Freed
Obama administration insists there was no quid pro quo, but critics charge payment amounted to ransom
WASHINGTON—The Obama administration secretly organized an airlift of $400 million worth of cash to Iran that coincided with the January release of four Americans detained in Tehran, according to U.S. and European officials and congressional staff briefed on the operation afterward.
Wooden pallets stacked with euros, Swiss francs and other currencies were flown into Iran on an unmarked cargo plane, according to these officials. The U.S. procured the money from the central banks of the Netherlands and Switzerland, they said.

So how will the MSM spin this.... $400 million in ransom payments...
Something Obama said the USA would NEVER DO!
White House spokesman Josh Earnest stated on behalf of President Obama, "The president continues to believe, as previous presidents have concluded, that it’s not the best interests of American citizens to pay ransom to any organization, let alone a terrorist organization, that’s holding an American hostage."
Obama Will Not Pay Ransoms For Americans Kidnapped By ISIS
So how many hostages has Iran now taken AFTER being paid $400 million?
Iran is re-stocking its larder of American and other Western hostages, clearly convinced the Obama administration won’t dare make it an issue.
Tehran this week arrested yet another US citizen and plans to place him on trial — though on what charges, it won’t say.
Though government officials refused to confirm his name, the detainee is almost certainly Reza “Rohin” Shahini, an Iranian-American student reported missing this month while visiting his sick mother in the city of Gorgan.
He’s the third Iranian-American (on top of four dual-nationality visitors from Canada, Britain and France) taken into custody since January, when Tehran freed several US captives in exchange for Iranians imprisoned here for real crimes.
