It's a convoluted plot bringing three stories together, a DEA hotshot detective, a grieving mother and a university professor with a conscience played by Oldman. The DEA stuff is routine cop but for my money the professor with a conscience battling both the university and the big pharm empire was the most interesting part. What lengths will universities go to keep the lucrative corporate and government grant money coming in? Will they cheat and ignore data in order to come up with the results that the grant pays for? It opens up a big can 'o worms about other issues.
