More than a million different species call the oceans home, while scientists estimate that another 9 million have yet to be discovered. However, the ocean is a very dangerous place because some of the deadliest creatures live there. Today, we will be looking some of the most dangerous creatures that live in the ocean.

Sea Snakes
Sea snakes are found in warm coastal waters from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific. There are about 30-50 different species of sea snakes, which belong to the cobra family. The average sea snake grows to about 2 meters long and has a smallish head for its body size. Their tails are flat, which allows them to swim quickly, and when they're underwater, the flap above their nostrils closes. But be careful, sea snakes are poisonous. Just 3 drops of venom would kill eight people. Fortunately, these snakes have short fangs that they can't easily bite through a diver's diving suit.

The Great Barracuda
Barracuda is a large predatory fin-shaped fish known for its terrible appearance and fierce behavior. Its has a snakelike appearance and protruding fangs, much like piranha, and is of various sizes embedded in the grooves of their large jaws. Like sharks, some species of barracuda are considered dangerous to swimmers. Many recorded attacks on humans seem to be related to flashing jewelry and even diving knives. Apparently barracuda was attracted by these, confusing them with their prey and attacking. Beside that, some of barracuda have ciguatera toxin in their flesh which can cause victims ills and other side effects.
