The HIMARS effect is beyond the physical loss of supplies and command. There is a morale effect of every man feeling endangered whenever they get near any stockpile of ammo, command center or large group of troops.
Moscow horde´s war record :- 1856 defeated by Britain and France 1905 defeated by Japan 1917 defeated by Germany 1920 defeated by Poland, Finland, Estonia and all Baltic states 1939 defeated by Finland 1969 defeated by China 1989 defeated by Afghanistan 1989 defeated in the Cold War. 1996 defeated by Chechnya 2022 defeated by Ukraine WW2 won USA/Britain , meanwhile Stalin's officers were shot or sent to the Gulags. Millions went to the Gulags, including Solzhenitsyn Moscow's only victories come from invading smaller countries :- a) Hungary 1956 b) Czechoslovakia 1968 c) Moldova 1992 d) Georgia 2008

In the immortal words of one Ukrainian infantryman in early weeks if this war: "We're so lucky they are so fucking stupid"

Not a total retreat at all. Mostly just from the North. It was a very good feint and strike by Ukrainians up North, I'll hand them that.
and a lot of territory. Russians were apparently leaving their vehicles and ammunition and scarpering in vehicles so still a bit unclear as to what exactly has gone on. One thing recently reported on the BBC, there has apparently been some sort of military things going on in Moscow today. What it was if anything no one knows.

Putin says " aholdz deez Wodka"
U....... All that's left.
Hopefully he has a "kinder gentler more compassionate nuke array".......so grain production can rebound in a decade or so

The Russian army is doing what's worked many times during this war.
First they withdraw and the Ukrainian forces advance forward.
The Ukrainian forces quickly use up their limited supplies of ammo, food, and weapons.
Then the Russians move forward flanking and then encircle the Ukrainians and unleash a massive artillery barrage.
Which decimates the Ukrainian forces.

Last night they were reporting from Ukraine that it had gone dark. This is pretty much the typical response now from Western sources.
  • Russia targeted infrastructure facilities in central and eastern Ukraine on Sunday evening in a response to a dramatic Ukrainian counteroffensive in Kharkiv province that has reshaped the war and left Moscow reeling. The mayor of Kharkiv city, Ihor Terekhov, said a strike had knocked out power and water to much of the city, in what he described as an act of “revenge” by Russia for Ukraine’s recent battlefield successes. There were reports of blackouts in Dnipro, Poltava and other eastern cities, potentially affecting millions of civilians. “A total blackout in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, a partial one in the Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy regions,” Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, said in a statement on social media. “No military facilities,” he added. “The goal is to deprive people of light and heat.” He denounce

Litwin is prematurely declaring victory here.

Ukraine is doing better and Russia is clearly not able to secure the victory they Should have achieved ( based on their finances and military size) but it’s far from over

This is one of my favorite videos from the counterattacks. It would be hilarious if it wasn't tragic.
