Zone1 Mormons outraged after Pentagon no longer counts LDS as Christian

Different Christian denominations do different things with the books written in early Christendom.

None of them accept the writings of a man who put rocks in a hat and peered into it to get revelations from God (apparently) in the early 1800s

Yes. Joseph Smith put magic rocks into a hat to get his Book of Mormon.

Really.
Oh, what you and others are saying about Mormonism seems whacko to me too....I just do not feel free to criticize them, without actually researching and learning about it first...on my own. I only know, discussing the Bible with them, and in doing such...they seem like Christians to me....I have never discussed Mormonism with them.

I'm amazed degrees of whacko-ness when comparing beliefs without evidence could even be a thing.

---- establishing a religion headed by Mortimer -----

Hell.

Hell , what's wrong with Morticia being our path way to God ?
He would at least remind us that our imagined Singularity is a stupid, lazy , fat individual who is a Scammer who actually cares for nothing other than itself .
We could all celebrate Scrounging as we guzzle the free wine and bread .

Maybe we can have some our regular LDS members chime in on this. Robert W mikegriffith1 Cougarbear

So do you agree with Hegseth that LDS aren't true Christians?
We know what we are. We are Latter-day Saints who believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God who atoned and died for our sins. We are the only Christian people who have the works of faith authority to exercise them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. So, guess what? We are separate of the Hegseth Christian group. But, we are Christians.

Hell, I think 31 is too many.
Mormons cannot believe these things and call themselves Christian. At best they are Christian-adjacent. At BEST

Fair point. Religion basically breaks down into Eleven major groupings, so I'm not sure what that 31 might be, and out of that 11, they all merge back as all having come from a common nostratic pantheism originating about 20,000 years ago. Out of that grew (among others) Arabian pantheism, from which first came Judaism, Christianity, Catholicism, Protestantism in the 16th century, and finally, Mormonism in the 19th century.

So no, Mormonism isn't Christian, but it grew out from/evolved out from it, so shares some common aspects or attributes.

What rights are violated?

They don't know, they just like to spam this forum with how much they hate Xianz and school everybody on their version of what the bible says n stuff, usually a Marxist fantasy of some kind.

It's no more a stretch than getting ate by a whale and getting spit back out later.

The OT' literature is way over your head, You should join a cargo cult out in the Pacific somewhere. You will fit in a lot better.

A good synopsis of how I view it. I take it a step or two further and add the early Hebrewism, i.e Abraham, Moses, the Pentateuch era, as distinguished from rabbinical Judaism, as coming first, and Christianity more of a retro movement back to that. Christianity is a hundred years or so older than rabbinical Judaism, the latter being invented around 120-130 A.D., at Jamnia, after the failure of the Bar Kokhba Revolt to wipe out all the heretics and Romans.

They believe they are Christians, the govt is telling them, they are not...how does the govt have the knowledge or power to make this determination and most importantly why is the govt/military making this decision to exclude them, now???
