how sad is this? people would rather be FINED by the IRS than go into OscamCare. what a President huh?

SNIP:

Next year, 35 percent of uninsured people would rather pay the upped fine for not having health insurance than buy Obamacare coverage — up 6 points from this time last year, when the penalty was hundreds of dollars lower.
According to a Gallup poll released Thursday, 55 percent of the uninsured said they’re planning on getting coverage in 2015, but 35 percent are fine with just paying the individual mandate’s tax on going uninsured.
In November 2013, just 29 percent of the uninsured said they were willing to pay the $95 fine in 2014 for remaining uninsured. But in 2015, the uninsurance penalty jumps to $325 — and increases even more in future years.
The Obama administration is insistent that the individual mandate is a vital part of the Affordable Care Act, but widespread exemptions during Obamacare’s first year in action resulted in a very small proportion of the uninsured actually paying the tax.
Just four million of the country’s uninsured population are expected to actually pay the penalty in 2014, according to aJune report from the Congressional Budget Office and the Joint Committee on Taxation. That’s 2 million less than the administration had projected in 2012 — and $3 billion less than the CBO expected the federal government to make in order to keep the Obamacare’s total bill low.
The mass exemptions in Obamacare’s first year could be motivating some uninsured Americans to try to avoid being forced to buy coverage. And after HealthCare.gov’s tortuous rollout last year (the administration promises that this year will be easier), others might be staying away from exchanges due to dreading the technical difficulties.

Hey, there are a lot of people who don't want to take responsibility for their own health care costs. In fact, some of them post here.

Don't worry though Stephanie

You still don't have to pay for yours and you'll still get your government cheese and welfare check.

The OP is so conservative she frowns when she swipes her EBT card

and you are nothing but a brain dead parrot. if you think you're cute think again. you're an idiot. I've never seen what the EBT cards look like in the state I live. jerk

Do you think that they would like medical treatment when at the ER, regardless of their lack of coverage, or evidence of an ability to pay?

Wait! Is Stephanie receiving public assistance?

Yes, its been repeated here often that Steph the conservative warrior finds it too hard to stand on her principals and go without govt assistance but everyone else should because she (air quotes) "really believes it"

Im no supporter of Obamacare myself but i must admit im surprised at this the uninsured are the only ones who have benefited from this, the quality of people who didn't have healthcare has gone up however the quality of healthcare has gone down for many people who had government sponsored healthcare prior to ACA and costs medical supplies actually rose and stablized at a higher price so maybe thier against it for that reason.

Everyone always had access to health care. that is so misleading and is what they used to lie OScamCare onto our backs.

be it through welfare, free clinics or clinics that take a payment on your pay scale

Rule No. 4. When lacking a coherent or cogent response to a counter-argument, attack the poster.

Stephanie is awarded the win, by default.

You get an award for being a dunce and speaking gibberish... but oh the irony to boot

Sorry, Stephanie but everyone had the ability to apply, it was up to Medicaid or company guidelines who got accepted and who didn't. Its not the same as actually getting healthcare.

oh bs, I've went to clinics that went on the persons pay scale. If you weren't working you paid nothing

The Obamacare plans being used most often have such high deductables they are worthless. A direct result of exchanges where people signed up for coverage they didn't understand.

Those are actually few and far between in a country of millions of people and thousands of cities in 50 different provinces and many with different or uniqe conditions it does very little to help.
