55 to 60 knots....takes bout 1000 hp to do that btw..cannot be pursued by conventional enforcement boats. It's either air enforcement or a coast guard ship with a high speed pursuit boat on board....an operation that takes literally all day and carries danger.

My maritime law knowledge extends to boats driving on the left. If I was a smart smuggler, I'd apply for a charter. I always speed to my next favorite fishing spot. Doesn't everyone?
