2 GOP Governor's Pull Support For NC Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Mark Robinson.
RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN/AP) — North Carolina Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson lost the endorsement of two GOP governors on Monday following a CNN report last week alleging he made explicit racial and sexual posts years ago on a pornography website’s message board.
The Republican Governors Association — anticipated to keep running ads to boost Robinson’s bid into the fall and oppose Democratic rival Josh Stein — will no longer support Robinson, association Chair and Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee told reporters Monday.
Republican Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and Lee both pulled their endorsements Monday from Robinson, who also had several top aides quit over the weekend.
Late Monday night, Republican nominee for State Treasurer of North Carolina Brad Briner
released a statement that Robinson needs to put the accusations “
to rest in the coming days” or “
he should step aside for a candidate that can turn the focus of the campaign back to issues.”

It is to late for Robinson to have his name removed, that ship sailed last week.
