In a Republic, actually
‘Support for providing immigrants living in the country illegally with a pathway to legal status in the U.S. has increased over the past six months, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll.

In the latest poll, conducted earlier this week, registered voters were asked if they “had to choose” whether they prefer giving a pathway to legal status or deporting most immigrants who don’t have legal permission to live in America.

Today, 64 percent say they prefer giving a path to legal status, while 31 percent prefer deportation, and 5 percent don’t know or didn’t answer.

That’s a significant change from a poll conducted in December, when 55 percent supported providing a pathway to legal status, 36 percent preferred deportation, and 9 percent didn’t know or skipped the question.

The overall uptick in support for a path to legal status is driven largely by an increase in support among Republicans and independents.’

Undocumented immigrants not granted asylum should be allowed to obtain legal status.

we already have a legal path to citizenship,,

they just dont want to use it because their intentions are not to be friendly,,

We already have a pathway to citizenship for people who obey our immigration laws.
But for the people who have violated our immigration laws, they should not ever be allowed to become citizens because they do not respect our laws.
They can get a work visa if they want to stay here to work, but no citizenship.

I find it interesting that the OP posts a survey without the information of how big the cross section was and who exactly were the participants and where was the survey conducted. LOL, did they survey 200 people on the street in E. LA?

If you were brought here as a child or entered legally and then fell out of status, I support a pathway, but personally don't support it without leaving first if you entered as an adult which is to say I wouldn't have known which way to answer the poll question honestly.

Here's the caveat. If they are well-meaning, yes, but it is hard to verify that.

My solution to a path to citizenship? Register each able-bodied man who sets foot into the US illegally for service in the armed forces—mandatory 5-year tour to earn citizenship. Vet each one.

Watch them all flee for the hills.

I find it interesting you don't bother clicking the link trail to the actual survey which gives sampling details. 2 clicks.

MAGAt?

The only arguable pathway to legal status for migrants I would accept would be that they would have to be of clean record and be of hard working character. However, what I would prefer is any illegal immigrants to be deported. Illegal migrants have been given special privileges, mostly since the Democrats want a pathway to expanding their voting base. I strongly support ICE.
