Monthly Tests of Weather Alert Sirens

Local one going off right now. Very disconcerting. Fortunately it goes off at 10am every month so if it's 10am I don't worry about it. Still...Find myself opening a weather radar tab if online or checking the tv to see if the Emergency Alert System is going. When I first moved in here 15 years ago I asked the rental office lady if they get tornadoes here in SW Missouri. She said no. LIAR! Had one here in town I walked outside to see (being from California we're stupid that way) and it was close enough I could the debris cloud and we had 2x4s raining down in the parking lot.

Clear blue skies here. Helped put my mind at ease. As did it being 10am when it was going off.
