“No, honey. Don’t be scared,” I told him, squeezing his ears between my boobs so he couldn’t hear them.

“I am a mother and I have every right to feed my child in public. If you have a problem with that, you can avert your eyes, but my son is feeding and will continue to feed until we are both satisfied.”

I stood up for myself, and I felt good, but this story doesn’t end like one of those feel good stories you hear on the local news. None of the patrons came to my defense, and they actually cheered as security escorted me and my son out of the theater.

This is just another day for me. This is what it’s like to be a mother that breastfeeds. This is what it’s like to live in world that hates women’s bodies.

But, this isn’t about me. It’s about my son. His name is Mason. He’s twelve years old, and now that he stands at eye level with me, he has to bend over a bit when I breastfeed him in public. Sure, it’s a little jarring when people see what appears to be a grown man sucking on a woman’s breasts, but it’s natural and their discomfort is not my problem.

The fact of the matter is, if it weren’t natural, I wouldn’t still produce milk, and it wouldn’t feel good to breast feed my son. Because of the sexual repression of women, there’s little information on the sexual nerve receptors in the nipple and the rest of the titty, but when a baby sucks on a woman’s breast she experiences a bit of sexual pleasure. When a man does it, she receives even more pleasure because the breast is sensitive to facial hair, and now that my son Mason is old enough to grow facial hair, our breastfeeding sessions have become even more pleasurable for me.

It's normal, natural and she has a right to breastfeed in public

She's wrong. The problem is hers. The kid is 12 years old. Mom has issues. There is no room for discussion on this one. Mom needs a shrink.

It may be too late for the kid. He'll need a shrink as well.

This HAS to be an onion article.

It's not. Follow the links. The link in the OP goes to a Colorado radio station, the link there goes to the article she wrote. The woman needs help...

If this is true, and there are some reasons to believe its not, she needs to be educated and/or hauled off to the loony bin.

And her son will likely need therapy for the rest of her life.

To the OP, no, its not normal, natural and no she does not have the right to nurse a 12yo boy in public.

...Wait what? 12?! Googling for more it seems this isn't the oldest as 16yo's are supposedly being breastfed. This is a new one to me.

My initial thought is this is child sexual abuse. Will read around and see if that changes as whatever rationale has any merit to science and/or the law. Kinda doubting it.

Legal case involving a 5 year-old breastfeeding here back in 2000,
Mom Still Breast-Feeds 8-Year-old Son - ABC News

If 5 is legally iffy, 12 or 16 must be clearly abusive.
My sister allowed her kid to breastfeed until she was 5.

If they are old enough to ask for it, they no longer need it.

Oh sister is a crackhead, niece a junky, and they have lengthy debates about how superior one addiction is to the other, and how they both are at least better than meth heads.

Quite a lot of support for the advisability of breastfeeding, but this isn't about that so much as trying to use what seems like some kind of sociopathy at work.

There's no scientific validity or benefit from breastfeeding a child at such a high age. Fact that they mother of the 5 yo only did a tv interview in shadow shows she understood that and opted for anonymity. If she really thought it was ok she wouldn't hide her identity. And that's a 5 year-old. Fact that a woman did that so openly with a 12 year-old suggests major clinical mental illness. Some kind of sociopathy I'd think.

I was never breast feed as a child. I might consider breastfeeding myself with an appropriate surrogate mom.
