Shelters for battered women are a waste of money. The women INVARIABLY go back to their batterers.

We either accept other cultures or we don't. If we can give a pass to a man who sold his 14 year old daughter for a case of beer, this is nothing.

This is not about 'culture', Katz. This is about forcing a child into prostitution by her own mother, right here in the U.S. where it is ILLEGAL and just plain wrong to do so.
I understand the point you are trying to make...if it weren't for ' cultural diversity' this wouldn't be an issue. I disagree with that. We have our own homegrown people who do the same shit, and have been doing it for hundreds of years.
Wrong is wrong here in the States, no matter the cultural differences.

There are a LOT of things wrong that we are expected to accept because it's cultural. We either impose our culture on newcomers or do what liberals have been doing for a few decades now, insist that there isn't an American culture and put up with all the crap.
