Most people who claim someone else having sex "violates their conscience" are just using religion to reinforce their bigotry.

See there you go.. calling anyone who's views you don't like.. a bigot. It's an opinion on what is a sin that you don't like. Fornication, polygamy, masturbation.. all sins in the Christian theology. Would you like to deman a public SHOW of tolerance for all sexual sin.. in order to protect the feelings of people who do these things? How far should we take the "pride symbol" idea? There's a huge difference between tolerating a lifestyle you don't agree with and, on the other hand, having to endorse a "celebration" of said lifestyle.
The whole rainbow thing long ago went beyond merely trying to inform people that, 'Hey, gay people are people too!" to a circus act that now has official government support, holidays, etc.
Live your life.
Quietly.
Privately.

I am pretty old myself and the only people objecting to gsys are those, like myself, screaming "leave me alone". Gay friends have never tried to force me to do anything on their behalf, other than to be tolerant. Why is that SO hard for you? Why does treating people with respect violate your conscience?

And gays aren't coming for your children. That's a right wing lie. Gays are telling children it's OK to be gay, because the majority of teen suicides are gay children who fear being outed.

YOU are so intolerant, you're incapable of saying "Not everyone is like me and that's OK". You're the one who is trying to force your lifestyle down everyone's throat.

Homosexuality isn't even mentioned in the 10 Commandments - the things GOD says are the worst sins. Adultery is one of the 10 Commandments, but I don't see promoting employment and housing discrimination against adulterers.

There is already public tolerance for fornication, polygamy and masturbation. Your current President committed adultery in all three of his marriages and has been found guilty of sexual assault and has gleefully admitted to sexual predation, and you still elected him President.

Yeah, sports should be sports, they shouldn't be used for bigotry, they shouldn't be used to get young black men to join the military.

Sports should be for ALL PEOPLE, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion.

No I don't. White Pride rallies are a "political event" because their purpose is to threaten other races, religions and cultures. In Charlottesville they chanted "The Jews will not replace us" as they marched past the synagogues on a Friday night. They beat up counter protestors and 3 people died.

Get back to us when Gay Pride events are used to attacked straight people and send them to the hospital. Gay Pride events are a celebration of the right to be themselves.

The reality is that in a TEAM SPORT you need to be a team. Statistically speaking there'll probably be two or three gay men on a team.

But the biggest point is that we should be teaching kids tolerance, and the best way is through their heroes.
