The U.S. Navy is smallest it has been since 1916.

One Hundred Four (104) Years Ago.

Hey Mittwitt:

The U.S. Navy has Nuclear Powered Air Craft Carriers. In case you don't know what an Air Craft Carrier is...a really big ship that can launch Air Craft, and the Aviators aboard those Air Craft Carriers can land at night, in a pitching sea.

The U.S. Navy has Nuclear Power Ballistic Missile Submarines ("Boomer") that carry Trident Nuclear Missiles. Submarines submerge Mittie...oh to many big words. They go under water Mittie, very deep water.

The U.S. Navy uses Sonar and Radar now Mittie.

The U.S. Air Force (Which did not exist in 1916) has Jet Air Craft capable of reaching over 55,0000 A.G.L. (Above Ground Level). These Air Craft are not made of wood and cloth and their wings do not shred in a deep dive. The cockpits are enclosed and they also carry missiles.

The U.S. Army and U.S. Marines no longer uses bolt action rifles (except for snipers). The Army uses something Semi-Automatic and Automatic Rifles now.

The U.S. Army and U.S. Marines have something called tanks.

The U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy can refuel their Air Craft in Mid-Air.

The U.S. Military has something called "Night Vision" goggles..

The U.S. Military uses automobiles, trucks and internal combustion powered vehicles now.

Also Mittwitt:

Yes, Syria is an Ally of Iran, but Syria is not "Iran's corridor to the sea".

Iran and Syria DO NOT HAVE A COMMON BORDER.

Iran has access to the sea via the Straits of Hormuz.

And you people want us to vote for this jerk.

oh please, if you were being asked these questions, under scrutiny would all your answers be picture perfect? its easy sitting on the sidelines.

These condescending petulant jabs only make O look like the junior high debater that he is. I'm sure this was a big hit for you though as you reminisced of such juvenile times.

Romney used the 1916 Navy talking point during a prepared speech at the Virginia Military Institute (click here for transcript of VMI speech). The debate was not the first time he brought it up, so it was not an off-the-cuff response.

That's why Obama was ready for him.

We have more FLight III Burkes to build.

With TICO's going off line soon and the OH Perry fleet aging.

More Burkes with Indy LCS.

Zumwalt was the next progression but it all but canceled.

With a compliment of TLAM cruise missiles a Burke destroyer can deliver a world of pin point hurt without risking USM lives

A check of The Hammond World Atlas shows that Iran does not in anyway, shape, and/or form have a common border with Syria.

Syria has borders with (In alphabetical order).

1. Iraq.

2. Israel.

3. Jordan.

4. Lebanon.

5. Turkey.

Iran has access to the seas via the Caspian Sea and Gulf of Oman (including The Straits of Hormuz).

Mittwitt should have at least checked an Atlas first.

But reading is not his strong suit anyway.
