Mitt Romney 'formally not invited' to CPAC after impeachment vote on witnesses

One was Susan Collins who is in a tough re-election bid. She was given a pass by McConnell.

Huh, I somehow hadn't read that -- interesting.

Nah, Democrats are always fighting amongst themselves. As I said Trump supporters march as one. Anyone one out of step is expelled or shunned.

Dat's wight, wabbit. Keep it up, conservatives. As Pelosi said in another context, "In our unity is our power."

They ain't got no unity. We do. So we can win, if we stay unified.

Romney the RINO just needs to come clean and switch to the Democrat party. ...

A few of them do. Collins also voted with Romney. Why can't our party have unity like the Democrat party? Every Democrat voted for witnesses. We can never do that with our party, because these phony Republicans sneak their way in.
Lol..yeah the Democrats are unified...LOL..No Trump supporters march in lock step. One misstep and you’re out. That is unity.

Really? So no Democrats voted out of party line, two Republicans did, and we are the party of unity? I fail to see the logic of that. Go back to the Clinton impeachment and see how that vote went. The exact same way. So don't tell me that the Republicans march in lockstep more than the Democrats.
Absolutely Republicans are more unified. Two Republicans broke ranks on a vote they knew they knew the Republicans would win. . One was Susan Collins who is in a tough re-election bid. Oh, you mean like the late James Trafficant?
Trafficant is a good example. He was corrupt and the Democrats got rid of him. Trump is 100 times worse than Trafficant ever was and Republicans rally around him. Not only rally around Trump but throw the Constitution out the door to defend him as well. Thanks for bringing Trafficant up.

You can read between the lines on Collins. She will lose anyway.

...that is why Trump will win re-election -- in a polarized era such as this --- the advantage goes to the side who is the most willing to be sycophants behind one candidate to the exclusion of everything else...and I mean everything...morals...truth, facts, etc.....

Jealous....jealous...… :11:

I bet you wish your party had some unity.

So you are admitting that democrats don't march in lock step like brownshirts to their marching orders like Trumpers do??

Or do you just plan on using that bullshit on a different post later??

No, it isn't 'unity....its a primary.....

I expect candidates to compete with each other in a primary.....and I also expect the party to generally support the nominee...but I don't expect idol cult worship to one candidate...that has always been republicans...I can live with that....

Naaaaaah, I'm pretty sure it was because of the bad hair.

Romney forgot what the media did to him in 2012
Before or after yall nominated him to be president??

What Trump republicans did to Mitt is far worse than what the "media" did.....
Harry Ried outright lied on Romney and mainstream media never once verified it
Ried later brags about his lie by saying it worked didn't it?

Did the chick from Maine also get her invitation revoked??

I don't know.

But with Mitt Romney its a lot worse. He accepted the support of Conservatives when he ran for President in 2012, yet stabbed them in the back this week.

Sen. Collins has always been a consistent Republican Liberal.
If Mitt would have got on knees in full worship of Trump while voting no to witnesses -- you dic suckers will still say the same things you have always said to attack Romney -- and by always, I mean AFTER he lost to the black guy...

Yall will always hate Romney because of that while still demanding he bow to Trump for some pat on the head …….it must really suck to have to be a GOP senator....

I looked at Maine and the election results and it seems to me she probably has to walk the line more than most. It seems to be quite a left leaning state, not like Arizona or Texas. So Mitch probably talked to her and either she was personally convinced about the need for more witnesses, or, made her case for her re-election situation and needing to look impartial.

What really would have been the difference is if she knew GOP would lose and then see if she voted the same. Remember Kavanaugh, she voted knowing her vote mattered after giving it the old "I'm not so sure" routine. So she was reliable when absolutely needed.

Romney though, has no such worries. In fact, he is voting against his constituents wishes, and his popularity among them has gone down since. Also, with the new Senator Recall law being passed in Utah, I think there are probably some deep pockets in the U.S who are saying, "this guy would rather hurt our president, party and election prospects in 2020 than see Trump win". Worse, it could even pave the way for a socialist to win in 2020.

If there is a primary challenger against Romney, I don't like his chances. Maybe I'm wrong and his history with the party matters, but politics has a short memory and right now things are good for America and the GOP.

A trumper can never in his fucking life tell me anything about lying ...ever....

Trump lied about Obama's birth, his economic record, etc etc etc etc....it worked didn't it??

Because he got the nomination BECAUSE of those kind of lies, not in spite of them.....
