While most of us are focused on the presidential election, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is focused on filling judicial vacancies.

McConnell appeared on Hugh Hewitt's radio show on Tuesday, and the first thing they discussed was judicial vacancies. "I’ve got the classic question: What have you done for me lately?" Hewitt asked, before answering himself. "You’ve actually saved the Constitution with 50 Appeals Court judges, two Supreme Court justices, 133 district court judges."

Both acknowledged that despite the impressive record of getting judges confirmed, there's still a lot of work to be done.

"I know that there are a lot of vacancies. They need to be filled," McConnell said. "But the good news is we’ve changed the 9th Circuit in a dramatic way, as you know, and it’s no longer, you know, the far-left court that it used to be."

McConnell added, "My motto for the year is 'leave no vacancy behind.' That includes district courts as well. And so we’re a long way from being finished with doing court confirmations this year."

There are about 25 pending district court nominees.

Well it does appear that senator McConnell is doing a good job with judges. Let’s give credit where it’s due. Praying he will get opportunity to fill at least one more Supreme Court vacancy very very SOON!....If she isn't already gone and a clone taking her place :)

He's pretty sure tRump isn't getting a second term.

If I had to place a bet I would bet on Trump in November.
The democrats can't agree on a candidate.
So Trump's base is energized and the democrats are fractured, especially if Bloomberg buys the nomination.

All Trumps picks have been young...so they'll be on the court for 40+ years!
Yeah, young, incompetent ideologues, one of whom has never even tried a case, lol.

Moscow Mitch knows he has a useful idiot in the White House, and he is going to get everything he can get out of the buffoon while he can.

Trump doesn't even have a "path to the White House!"

So what was going at this point in time in the last general election? What 19 republican clowns? 18 or what? The repugs seemed pretty fractured themselves at this point.

Oh really! You start holding your breath right now. You can breath again when Trump leaves office.

Term II Trump gets to replace: RBG's Body Double, Roberts and Clarence retires gracefully

The GOP has only two factions, Trump supporters, aka "populists", and the Never-Trumper establishment wing. There are roughly 93% Trump supporter and 7% Never-Trumpers, aka RINOs. Cruz was the last man standing and didn't have major policy differences with Trump. If you look at Trump's "promises-kept" you'll see that they are fairly typical GOP wish-list items. Especially appointing judges and justices, pro-life, low taxes, less government regulation, strong military, see them all here: Promises Kept | President Donald J. Trump's Accomplishments

The democrats have more diverse factions to manage, herding cats doesn't begin to describe it.
Minorities want stuff, students want stuff, unions want stuff, socialists want stuff, moderates want stuff, gays & trannies want stuff, women want stuff, they all have their candidates and won't support the other's candidate, like in 2016, when Bernie got screwed by the DNC and lost interest in the general election.

So, why else is he in such a hurry?
