What a grown man cant just not be heard from for a week or so? That is what is meant by that. There are many other issues that just don't add up and the outlook doesn't look good.

So, he's got a son, and he's just going to up and take off without telling him, when he's never done it before, and the family just "decides" to "hope" that's what happened, and not bother filing a missing persons report?

Sounds fishy to me.

Some families simply do not act with the feeling that one hopes one's family would act in such a situation. Does the guy have a history of going away for a while? My cousin would run off from his family every so often, and his wife was fine with it (plenty of money and he always came back in a few days, never more than a week or two).

Follow the money.

They actually fear the worst and the local cops are doing nothing. It was put in the paper by the family.
And yes lost of people go missing some to Argentina
