I am not putting words in your mouth. I am asking you why you believe that your beliefs are so important that they must violate the rights of others.
That is a red herring. Do you cherish something in your life, Noomi? I know you do. Everyone does. I cherish my faith, and I will act on its precepts. If it is offensive or it somehow gives off an impression that it restricts the rights of other people, that is not my problem. I will continue to believe in what I believe, regardless of what other people think.
I never suggested that my beliefs were so important to me that I would be willing to oppress someone over them. But I will take whatever steps are necessary to uphold them in my own life.
Using your logic, people of faith are oppressors, people who think ill of the rights of other people. But somehow, an unborn child is killed because the mother vehemently believes she has a choice. I will not recognize the inherent hypocrisy in that contention.
At any rate, this is going nowhere, and I refuse to be baited into feeling guilty for the values I hold.
