If the media were genuinely committed to gutting the Second Amendment, they would have promoted this shooting equally with other mass shootings. That they didn’t is a reminder that Democrat values tend to be situational. Guns are all right in some hands but not in others.

For example, even though Democrat-run inner cities are a place of routine gun carnage, the media tend to ignore all the black-on-black shooting that takes place in those cities, despite the sad fact that those shootings account for most of the non-suicide gun deaths in America. 55 gang arrests spark hope in Dover

A weeks-long initiative that resulted in the arrests of 55 people – more than half of them on gang charges – is giving some residents hope that Dover is making a turn for the better.

The seven-week investigation began shortly after police Chief Marvin Mailey and Dover Mayor Robin Christiansen on May 26 called for a stop to the rash of shootings that plagued Delaware's capital city.

With 23 shootings occurring before that date and an additional seven in the month of June, there were concerns that Dover would surpass the previous year's total of 40 shootings.

Throughout the investigations of the shootings that had already occurred, police determined the vast majority of them were gang related, said Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman, a Dover police spokesman.


Dover police conclude gang initiative with numerous arrests

Officers with the Dover Police Department wrapped up a seven-week gang initiative Sept. 30 with help from the Delaware State Police, Department of Correction and the Delaware Bureau of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement.

The initiative began May 26 with investigations into several shootings in the city. There had been 23 shootings in 2017 up until that date and another seven in June, department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

At that rate, Chief of Police Marvin Mailey and Mayor Robin Christiansen said the city would exceed the 2016 total of 40 shootings.

Throughout the investigations of the shootings that already had occurred, police traced the majority to local gangs. Dover authorities learned state troopers also had been investigating several incidents of gang-related activity around the Dover area, Hoffman said.

In July, police formed a gang initiative task force with assistance from the state police, DOC and ATF to combat gang violence in Dover.

Officers used special investigative techniques, surveillance, proactive patrols of known gang areas and partnerships with other agencies such as Youth Probation to identify and investigate gang activities.

A weeks-long initiative that resulted in the arrests of 55 people – more than half of them on gang charges – is giving some residents hope that Dover is making a turn for the better.

The seven-week investigation began shortly after police Chief Marvin Mailey and Dover Mayor Robin Christiansen on May 26 called for a stop to the rash of shootings that plagued Delaware's capital city.

With 23 shootings occurring before that date and an additional seven in the month of June, there were concerns that Dover would surpass the previous year's total of 40 shootings.

Throughout the investigations of the shootings that had already occurred, police determined the vast majority of them were gang related, said Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman, a Dover police spokesman.


Dover police conclude gang initiative with numerous arrests

Officers with the Dover Police Department wrapped up a seven-week gang initiative Sept. 30 with help from the Delaware State Police, Department of Correction and the Delaware Bureau of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement.

The initiative began May 26 with investigations into several shootings in the city. There had been 23 shootings in 2017 up until that date and another seven in June, department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

At that rate, Chief of Police Marvin Mailey and Mayor Robin Christiansen said the city would exceed the 2016 total of 40 shootings.

Throughout the investigations of the shootings that already had occurred, police traced the majority to local gangs. Dover authorities learned state troopers also had been investigating several incidents of gang-related activity around the Dover area, Hoffman said.

In July, police formed a gang initiative task force with assistance from the state police, DOC and ATF to combat gang violence in Dover.

Officers used special investigative techniques, surveillance, proactive patrols of known gang areas and partnerships with other agencies such as Youth Probation to identify and investigate gang activities.

If the media were genuinely committed to gutting the Second Amendment, they would have promoted this shooting equally with other mass shootings. That they didn’t is a reminder that Democrat values tend to be situational. Guns are all right in some hands but not in others.
