On pardons and January 6, Republicans torn between moving forward and looking back

When reporters asked Mike Johnson to respond to President Donald Trump’s pardons for more than 1,000 people charged in the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol, the House speaker had a ready answer.

“We’re not looking backwards. We’re looking forward,” he said Wednesday morning.

Barely three hours later, Johnson announced the creation of a new select subcommittee to continue the GOP’s probe into January 6, because “there is more work to be done.” He also said Republicans would investigate pardons handed out by President Joe Biden on his way out the door.

I understand why Mike does not want to dwell on Don's pardon of the violent thugs in his mob who savagely beat fellow human beings who happen to be Capital policemen. You know, the convicted criminals who were fighting like hell to save the country in the name of djt.

The trick is holding that thought while simultaneously prioritizing trump's revisionist history project.

You Dummy!

Republicans want to move on from the Republican attack on the Capitol
But they need to look into those who investigated it

When you think about the Orwellian feat of making trump a victim, in the minds of trumples, for orchestrating a plot to subvert the will of the voting public you begin to understand the power of the propaganda machine we're up against.

There's never been anything like it.

I understand the role propaganda plays.

But the unquestioning acceptance of bizarre propaganda claims makes me wonder

I started this thread a week or so ago.

Watching the switch in Perrine's head get flipped when the subject of trump's failure to concede the 2020 election is emblematic of how trumple's brains work. A powerful defense mechanism kicks in when their Dear Leader is criticized. It's at that point when they resort to the voluminous number of lies that have become part of their belief system. They also have a tendency to employ endless whataboutisms when their backs are to the wall. Unable to muster an actual defense.

Johnson is a traitor. He supports a foreign nation over his own. Of course, he’s not alone. Nearly our entire political class are traitors.

Your valuable contribution to the thread is appreciated. ;)

When democrats/never-TRUMPers destroyed evidence they prevented people from getting a fair trial. So if you mad about the TRUMP Jan 6 pardons you can blame those who allowed for evidence to be destroyed.
