Mike Johnson declares Christianity official state religion.

It is representative of the culture, but it is limited by the US Constitution.
Why can they not return to the court rooms then?

The 10 commandments placed in court rooms in times past never produced a theocracy, so why pretend putting them back in will?

First, I do not believe that the Speaker has the authority to do that. He can offer his opinion but he can't override the Supreme Court 2005 ruling that says the display of the 10 Commandments in a courtroom is a violation of the separation of church and state. Today's SCOTUS or a future court might decide differently, but for now you can't do it legally. IMHO, this is another one of those things could be decided at the state and local level.

So just put them back. Put up a document that speaks of laws specifically for Judeo-Christians, in the one room that is supposed to be about equality and fairness?

Washington - Speaker Mike Johnson today declared Christianity the official state religion as he moved the 10 commandments back into court rooms across the country. Nancy Pelosi lambasted the Speaker saying, "This is an outrage! You cannot post, "Thou shalt not steal, commit adultery, and lie, in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians as it will only produce a hostile work environment. Congressional members in both parties are already saying they will either not run for another term or resign on the spot."

Former Congressman Anthony Weiner was equally indignant saying, "The next thing you know, not only will I not be able to solicit minors online, but Mike Johnson may also prohibit me from watching porn. Without porn, how will any of our lives even make sense or be worth living?" In fact, had I been born during a period where I had no access to porn, I would probably just kill myself."

Universities around the country are equally concerned. Harvard spokesperson Adam Russel said, "Does this mean the university must now embrace the commandment, "Thous shalt not kill? If so, this will stop students from praising Hamas attacks targeting civilians who really deserved it? I mean, the upside would be that we won't have to hide Jewish students in the attic when they protest anymore, but this is an outrage as it violates my first amendment rights! Also, how can we kill off our offspring? We will now have to birth them and raise our own flesh and blood. Mike Johnson must be stopped!!"
What’s next? Courtrooms with big old lettering declaring “In God We Trust” inscribed on the walls behind the judges’ benches?

Oh. Then why do you think the US can be rid of religion?

Yeah, uh, we did that by killing a LOT of people, not by being white male christian landowners.
Unlike your Progressive Founding Fathers, we never claimed to be perfect or know what’s best for everyone. It was a government designed to leave people alone as much as possible. It’s a basic philosophy that drives Progressives into a genocidal frenzy

BTW, slavery is STILL Practiced in many parts of the world. We defeated democrat slave owners to end that practice in America
