The fair tax really is a good plan. It's not that complicated, and it moves over to consumption tax, which is better for the economy. It's just as progressive as the current plan, also. Temporary residents, illegal immigrants, and people who make money on the black market would also be taxed under a consumption tax, lessening the burden on the rest of us. The current US tax system, which taxes by citizenship regardless of residency, is retarded and definitely needs to go.

Gunny, if a guy running for President cannot say that he thinks the Earth is more than 6000 years old, when there is a preponderance of evidence that it is 4.54 billion years old, then we must conclude that either he has great capacity for ignoring evidence, or he is uneducated. We know he is not uneducated. Thus, if he can ignore the pile of evidence on the age of the Earth, it begs the question what other evidence will he ignore when he is President?

My reference would be a flat tax. Same percent for everyone across the board.

As I said, I could care less how old the Earth is, nor who believes which version.

The only thing you can conclude is that he may be uneducated in regard to how old the earth is. Maybe, like me, he just doesn't care? While it may be an important topic to you, it is not for everyone. You can't assume he is ignoring it when you don't know the reason for his answer.

I want to see his stances on current issues which affect us NOW, or could affect us in the future. I want to see his voting record on those issues. How old he thinks the Earth is doesn't mean a thing to me. Where he stands politically and his political record do.
