Michigan to clear 420 acres of trees for a solar farm in Michigan in State Forest 🙄

How many square smiles is Michigan? 97,990 square miles. That means the acreage of this solar farm is 6 x 10^-4 percent of the land area of the state. I think they can spare it!

Yeah it's not very much land really...
Though I agree that it is a futile effort.
To make any kind of impact they would need a minimum of 400,000 acres....not feasible.

At least you're growing food there ..solar panels are waste of money, we need to upgrade our infrastructure not waste money on this stupid s***

There's potholes in Michigan ... say it ain't so ...

We need power plants ... part of upgrading our infrastructure ... so the money is being spent whether it's wasted or not ... which project wastes the least amount of money? ... and remember, these are the folks we trust to keep Michigan roads in good shape ...

Michigan ranks one of the most-expensive states in the nation for electricity costs, as the electrical grid in the state also struggles with frequent and prolonged outages.

Residents in the Great Lakes State pay the 11th highest retail price for electricity in the country. This is according to a report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, which looked at the average retail price of electricity for the residential sector. In Michigan, it was 20 cents per kilowatt-hour.

Other studies have flagged that, though Michigan consumers are paying more than many Americans for electricity, the state has also consistently dealt with a less reliable power grid.

Put a 5,000 megawatt coal-powered plant in the middle of the state and watch the electricity costs come down rapidly.

Grand Coulee name-plates at 6,800 megs ... and that's just one of many dams on the Columbia ... why Washington State and Idaho are cheapest-in-the-nation for electric rates ...

Renewables ... saves money ... and still wreaks the environment ... it's a win-win-win-loss-win-loss-win-win situation ...
