It has rave reviews... Micheal Lewis again writes a book very topical for the time..

Some lovely examples how government makes our lives better and what these selfless people in a lot of cases do...

It is a narrative against the lazy trope touted out by some of the media..

Next up; a book lauding the Mafia, and how they're utterly indispensable to keeping the police employed.

**** my life.
Say what you will, but Al Capone ran soup kitchens for the poor.

This is how I see government. They do just enough good to remain legitimate, and then focus on their main goal which is power and money for me and not thee.

I would like to see parents being proud once again when their child chooses Civil Service as a career.
Even the interview is highly interesting... It show people who are selfless...

There are people that want to insult and belittle them... like some posters here...
It really shows that ignorance has an upper advantage in this environment...

Oddball & Votto Thanks for showing how ignorance is easy to push...

It is upsetting that these people who gave their careers and livesin selfless service are demeaned by these ignorant posts... They don't see that many could have more money in private companies but that doesn't make life better for Americans when comparing what they do as civil servants...

I am more embarrassed for you two... You are really just saying, how stupid can you be and celebrate that fact..

And Schindler was a Nazi.

That doesn't make all the Nazi's good by association.

I'm sure there are some selfless people who choose civil service. And I'm sure there were more good Nazis other than Schindler.

But those are the exceptions.

Government sucks always. Why do you think government has authority over your life? Government goons are ignorant and criminal.

Tell us, what did the bank accounts of these "civil servants" look like at the end of their career?

And how does someone making under $200,000 a year become a multi millionaire overnight in Congress?

Time to grow up son.
