He WAS a talented PERFORMER.

I don't know about greatest proformer. Questions like that are impossible to settle on because the question is really a subjective opinion and there's truly no accounting for taste

But clearly he did much to reinvent modern choreography.

As to his musical albums?

Well, hundreds of millions of people obviously loved them.
