Our local housing market has cooled some but prices have not come down any in a meaningful way. Houses that were selling at 2 times assessed are now selling at 180% assessed it looks like from the transfers reported in the paper. Still way too high for many people.

That was new homes. Our market does not have many of those. Also a lot of industry folks don't believe the 20% number--they think it will end up being revised into the single digits.

It doesnt matter new or old. Every sale creates work. Interest rate cuts will increase sales even more. The key is to get away form any democrat city or state where houses and taxes make home ownership impossible
