The materials are laying in heaps, rusting, and being watched over by guards we taxpayers pay 24/7.

There was no real plan for the wall and what was proposed wasn't very good. I do believe a wall would help stop illegals entering through our southern border but there wasn't really a serious commitment by Trump or the Republicans to build that wall. Trump could've used the so-called "bully pulpit" and organized a mass grassroots campaign to get the wall funded and built. He didn't do that. Just like he promised the workers at the Carrier plant in Indiana during his run for office in 2016, the factory wouldn't close and move to Mexico. Less than a year after he was in office the Carrier plant closed and moved to Mexico. What did he do to Carrier? Did he impose stiff tariffs on Carrier's Mexican-manufactured AC units? Did he strip Carrier of all of its tax breaks and other benefits? No. He did nothing. Carrier is willing to take the jobs of thousands of its American employees and move them to Mexico to make huge short-term profits at the expense of the American economy in the long-term. Trump did nothing to stop it nor did he impose any penalties on Carrier.
