Mexican President: "Fentanyl is your problem"

Never underestimate what the son of the POSPOTUS may be capable of arranging. The POSPOTUS was born in Scranton.

American citizens are going down and getting the drug and bringing it back through legal crossing points.
lol right, it's all Americans bringing it in! You obviously need rehab yourself.

United States Attorney Leigha Simonton said 22-year-old Jason Xavier Villanueva was arrested Tuesday by Carrollton Police and the DEA and said he has been federally charged with conspiracy to distribute fentanyl.

Villanueva, the DOJ said, allegedly worked through a juvenile dealer to supply fentanyl-laced pills to 21-year-old Luis Eduardo Navarrete and 29-year-old Magaly Mejia Cano, the pair arrested last week and accused of dealing fentanyl to kids in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, and was a "main source of supply" of fentanyl in the overdose cases.

Villanueva made his initial appearance in federal court Wednesday afternoon. It's not clear if he's obtained an attorney. Navarrete and Cano were charged with conspiracy to distribute controlled substances last week and remain detained pending trial. If convicted, each faces up to 20 years in federal prison.

Investigators believe Villanueva, Cano and Navarrete are linked to as many as 10 juvenile overdoses among students, three of which were fatal. The overdoses occurred over a six-month period and involved students ages 13-17.

Villanueva also allegedly transacted directly with some of the juveniles directly through social media, Simonton said.

they might be your usual unassimilated anchor babies, I guess; a distinction without a difference of course; they're getting it from their cartel bosses.

Rubbish. It was good for keeping a lot of gangbanging serial killers ocked up for at least a little while, some for a long time. Pursued with real intent to win, it would have been won long ago. As for the rest of your claims, rape laws haven't stopped rape, either, so you would legalize rape, apparently.

We have more people incarcerated per capita that totalitarian regimes. We have more people locked up per capita than any other nation. Period. The only group that comes close in history is the Nazi’s.

They are locked up for years, or life. Yet crimes still happen.

So we should carefully choose which laws matter most. We should decide the oldest and most heinous crimes deserve the harshest penalties. And then we should decriminalize the actions in which no one is victimized.

We suffer overcrowding in most of our prisons and jails. Yet when our recidivism rate is higher than any other nation on earth, we decide we aren’t tough enough.

We spend more on prisons and jails than we do the Military. We spend more being tough on crime than we do on pretty much any other thing.

But let’s take your rapist. Two thirds of sexual assaults go unreported. Of those that are reported, very few go to trial. It is estimated that 1% of rapes end in convictions.

Imagine if we put as much focus on that most heinous crime instead of trying to stop the flood of drugs. We might get the conviction rate up to a whopping 5%.

Instead we spend tens of thousands of man hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars to get some dealers. As those dealers are being processed into jail, others are stepping out to take their place.

And we clearly don't have enough locked up, which only means we don't have effective deterrents. So legalize rape, armed robbery, burglary, murder, etc., and get those prison numbers down!!! lol it's actually pretty hard to do hard time for first or even seconnd offenses, unless you're a career fuck up and gun thug, so you're obviously blaming the wrong causes. Same with the rest of your Pity Party for thugs. Black Cultural Hero gun thug George Floyd didn't even get a lot of time for home invasion while the pregnant resident was home and got pistol whipped. Quit pissing on our leg and claiming it's raining; that sniveling got worn out by the end of the 1960's.

That SOB has a lot of nerve. Can you imagine what Trump would have done to Mexico if he had been told that?

"MEXICO CITY — Mexico’s president said Thursday that his country does not produce or consume fentanyl, despite enormous evidence to the contrary.

President Andros Manuel Lopez Obrador appeared to depict the synthetic opioid epidemic largely as a U.S. problem, and said the United States should use family values to fight drug addiction.

His statement came during a visit to Mexico by Liz Sherwood-Randall, the White House Homeland Security Advisor, to discuss the fentanyl crisis. It also comes amid calls by U.S. Republicans to use the U.S. military to attack drug labs in Mexico.

The Mexican government has acknowledged in the past that fentanyl is produced at labs in Mexico using precursor chemicals imported from China. Fentanyl has been blamed for about 70,000 opioid deaths per year in the United States.

“Here, we do not produce fentanyl, and we do not have consumption of fentanyl,” Lopez Obrador said. “Why don’t they (the United States) take care of their problem of social decay?”

Mexican president to US: Fentanyl is your problem
He makes a very legitimate point. If we didn’t truly have such a decaying culture there wouldn’t be a market for the drug cartels. The very fact that drug abuse among youths is now being mainstreamed bears this out. Kids aren’t warned to not use drugs, they’re warned about their drugs being spiked. The drugs then become a catalyst for the very real and pervasive social decay and the problem is self-perpetuating.
