The problem here is that cops never stop murders in process. That cops are reluctant to pull over someone for a DWB now is having no effect on the Crime rate.
What DID happen after 2015 is we are seeing the full effect of McDonald and Heller. Cities that had banned guns could no longer keep them out of the hands of the guy who was likely to shoot his wife because she burned the pot roast.
And of course, 2020 is what happens when you lock two unhappy people in a house for months at a time and they get the fuck on each others nerves.

I just read this morning where they arrested a 22-year old for the murder of a 19-year old Saturday night here in Tennessee. They obviously knew each other from the rival gangs they were in!

Actually, growing up I knew of a family where EXACTLY that happened. The guy killed his wife after a domestic argument, and then cut up the body and tried to dump it in a vacant lot. He was caught, of course.
