This is about the first serial killer in modern Korean history. The murders took place from the mid 80's to the early 90's, a time when forensic evidence technology in South Korea was virtually non-existent.
It's another South Korean film that gets a lot of praise, and I do love the cinematography and acting in this movie.
However, a MUCH better film, by the same director, is Mother, IMO:
Mother is a damn near flawless movie on the level of Alfred Hitchcock. It's by the same director, Bong Joon-ho, who shows how much he has improved and matured since he made Memories of Murder.
Memories of Murder: 8/10
Mother: 9.5/10
Next movie I plan to watch is Split.
