Is there a point to that?
The flu wasn't so bad, and then it went super-deadly. That destroys the "viruses always get weaker" argument.
Influenza isn't the same as a coronavirus.
Colds were probably lethal eons ago, but we became more resistant to them, and they became less fatal.
We also get stronger as we get exposed to different strains of viruses.
