If a U.S. Army general is killed -- what happens? His next in command takes over.

If a so-called terrorist of significant rank is killed does anyone think that's the end of the game? Someone else steps up, the only difference being there are no stars and eagles on the players' hats.

This rather routine killing of an "Al Qaeda leader" is approximately as productive as is the routine "big drug bust" which for the past thirty years is supposed to make us believe progress is being made in the great drug war. But the truth is it's all theater performed for the purpose of ensuring continued funding. In over thirty years of constant, costly, wholly counterproductive, often cruelly destructive law-enforcement theatrics, the DEA and all the state and local narcs haven't done a goddam thing to reduce the use and abuse of recreational drugs in America.

But the beat goes on. As it will with the drone attacks knocking off "Al Qaeda leaders," who are instantly replaced -- along with another fifty fighters recruited by the "collateral" killing of some innocent peasant's grandmother or child.

This bullshit will go on for as long as the taxpayers and voters are willing to continue supporting the Law Enforcement Industrial Complex and the Military Industrial Complex, which are really what it's all about.

If you will read the entire transcript you will find that bin Laden was warning that if some action wasn't taken to remove the U.S. troops from Mecca and to stop supporting Israel's expansion into the Gaza region there would be retaliation. He warned us -- and we ignored the warning.

Very soon after the 9/11 attack G.W. Bush quietly removed our troops from Saudi Arabian soil and he pressured Sharon to evict the settlers from Gaza. Had we don't those things in advance of 9/11, rather than virtually daring bin Laden to make good on his warning, that attack would not have happened.

Also, don't forget we helped the Mujahideen to expel Russia from Afghanistan. Today we are in Afghanistan and the Mujahideen is now known as Al Qaeda. So it seems rather clear who is provoking whom in the Middle East.

Finally, can you offer a good reason why we invaded and occupied Iraq -- which undoubtedly earned us tens of thousands of enemies committed to retaliation against us?
