Measles outbreak worsening in Texas

Even before the vaccine was created, measles fatality rate was minimal. The sky is falling bullshit is getting old with liberals. I would suggest people get the vaccine, but you idiot liberals need to stop with the sky is falling nonsense. It makes you look ridiculous. 😉

What does that say about the immunization rate in NM, eh Shylock? Isn't that one of your favored progressive states that do everything right? If they were immunized, it wouldn't have made any difference if TX was or is logic and critical thinking beyond you. Try again--a biased UK based news source may be your problem.

Is he, Sherlock Holmes, just Tommy Tainant in a dress?

Who said the sky was falling?

The measles outbreak in Texas has now spread to New Mexico.

Texas is home to huge numbers of trumpanzees and so vaccination rates are lower than they are in normal countries.

Will we hear from RFK I wonder, as secretary of health what do people think he should do about this? ignore it?

What about taking a leaf out of the Trump playbook and just tell people "not to worry, it's going to go away"?

You really dont have a clue, do you Sherlock?

You mean a clue about what the fuck you're talking about?

No, you're right I have no idea what the fuck you are talking about.

I realize you live far far across the pond so things over here in the U.S. probably seem foggy to you. Guaranteed everyone else knew exactly what I hinted to you. But you being Sleuth of great renowned shouldnt need so many hints. I'll help you out however.

I dont know which daytime T.V. show you picked this up from but, blaming disease outbreak on Trump supporters is about the silliest thing ever. Did you know that Tuberculosis is also at a high water mark as well in Texas? as well as other communicable diseases?

Next find your world atlas and look closely, if you see that squiggly thing right below the area marked T.E.X.A.S.... you'll see a place called Mexico, from which 10's of thousands of people were allowed in each week for years now without proper medical screening. theres a reason you dont see this same outbreak in other states, to the extent of that place that lies along the most porous border.

How you could ever make some type of thread attributing blame to a political affiliation is laughable. Do you need more clues? does someone need to spell it out to you more? If you do, just make a few online searches and look up the key words. Communicable Disease, Mexico, U.S. Border, 2024 Immigrants / migrants/ Illegal immigrants.

Naw, this moron who identifies with a washed up brit actor playing a fictional character, lives near Apache Junction, AZ. He's been out in the sun too long gazing at the Superstition mountains. He loved England so much he came here and is trying to relive the revolution. Fortunately with the same disastrous results for him.

It was actually taken from a newspaper and the link to it was included in the OP. I blamed Trump supporters for being irrational anti vaxxers not for measles, read the article:

Gaines county, located in rural western Texas, is the epicenter of the latest outbreak, with 57 reported cases. The county, with 22,523 residents, had one of the state’s highest immunization exemption rates for the 2023-24 school year, according to DSHS data. Nearly 18% of students opted out of vaccinations, which had all but eradicated measles and other contagious illnesses before skeptics undermined confidence in them among some in the US.

Right and that's why we vaccinate to reduce the risk of being infected from foreign visitors illegal or legal. Some 66 million foreign people flew into the US in 2023 and some 77 million last year, a number that dwarfs anything we see at the southern border. Do you honestly think everyone who flies into the country legally carry no communicable diseases?

RFK is an anti-vaccine conspiracy fantasist and he has just been appointed secretary of health. Please explain how politics has nothing to do with RFK's appointment, I'm all ears.

Incidentally I'm an immigrant from Britain and been here for twenty five years and I've lived in Arizona for ten. I live here just as you guys do.

You didn't answer why those in forward-thinking, progressive NM are being infected? Are they leftist anti-vaxxers? Do you have any link that substantiates your assertion that all of those infected were republicans or is that more of your usual slanderous, partisan speculation?

You have to be moronic not to realize why there is suddenly a measles problem in Texas
From the newspaper report:

So there's the cause right there - 18% of the children were not vaccinated and that's what happens when you're not vaccinated you catch measles much more easily, if you didn't know that then it partially explains why you voted for trump - you're an idiot.

So irrationality is the cause, irrationality like we see from trumpanzees who are so dumb they still insist Trump won in 2020.

OK, now show us in the article where it names the political affiliations of those infected. It is just as likely that they are democrats, LOL. Put that tin hat on. You'll make total nonsense out of anything.

Once again the facts escape you. The article clearly states that most of the unvaccinated are Mennonites and most Mennonites voted for Trump last year.

Maybe if their kids start dying they'll have an epiphany.

I know several young women who are evangelical missionaries and they refused Covid vaccine, insisting that they pray for God's protection, they do not need human medicines. Well one of them caught Covid and her hair started coming out in clumps, she soon ran to a doctor.

Trump is already ignoring it, believing it will ‘go away.’
