Japan is also just this close to being a police state ....their police can stop you at anytime, for any reason, and their prosecutors can hold you just about indefinitely without seeing counsel......and judges don't really care if they abuse your rights.........and if you commit a crime, you are going to be convicted....

The Japanese stopped their yakuza from using guns by giving them long prison sentences for gun crimes....unlike here where democrat party politicians release violent criminals over and over again no matter how serious the gun crime is.....that doesn't happen in Japan......

I'm a big believer in having good "trade schools," but they aren't free and the inner-city youths are poor.

At one time, the businesses paid for the "Trade Schools" but it was called apprenticeship many time. That is how I learned to precision weld. I am not talking about just welding, it's precision welding. At the time, I didn't know what the pipes were used for but now I know the Aluminum ones were used in centrifuges for enriching of Uranium. The Stainless tubes and pipes were steam pipes to handle the heat transfer from the core to a Turbine. No, we didn't make the units, only the tubing. All of these pipes had to have a perfect weld or the whole section had to be discarded. I had to quit due to an eye damage. You see, while I protected myself from me, OSHA wasn't present yet to protect us from the other welders when we brought up our face shields. I knew I was going to be drafted and was carrying a sweet deal from the Navy on my cuff. But due to the eye damage, I went into the Air Force which was a much more stable part of Military as a Recip Propulsion Mechanic. If you ever have a question on the Recips that were still in the Military as late as the 70s, ask me. If you have a question on the birds that came after 1990 then I ain't the one to ask.

My Uncle learned to be a Tool and Die Maker in an apprenticeship in the fifties. He made more than most professionals over his career.

Nice cherry picking. Here is the children fatality rate by state. BTW, firearms are the leading children fatality rate at even twice what auto accidents are listed as. Here are the 5 highest firearms fatality rate for children in the top 5 states. Notic all but one is a heavily MAGAt state.
