McConnell is by far the most Successful Senate Majority Leader in US History

Prior to McConnell, The Senate was a functioning body. Senators like Ted Kennedy, John McCain and Joe Biden were willing to cross the aisle to get things done.

Those days are gone. McConnell has replaced cooperation with a Scorched Earth policy. His decision to block Merrick Garlands appointment while he fast tracked Amy Barrett’s appointment has created absolute HATRED between the parties.
There will be no shaking of hands and let bygones be bygones.

That is McConnells legacy

McConnell will probably go down as one of the worst Senate leaders in history.

The Senate has functioned for hundreds of years with certain procedures and protocols that got things done

One was the filibuster that forced a 60 percent vote for Senate legislation to proceed. That filibuster was rarely used and only was applied to highly controversial legislation. McConnell applied it to all legislation and court appointments.

As a result of McConnells obstruction, the “nuclear option” was invoked on court appointments and is now the norm.

McConnell may have won his short term victories, but left a disfunctional Senate in his wake.

LMAO Well who instituted the nuclear option??

Oh and the Senate is far from disfunctional. In fact its pretty damned good.

The Dem led House on the other hand is a shit show of epic proportions.

Exactly
Why was a nuclear option even necessary?
Because McConnell invoked a 60 vote filibuster on EVERY Obama appointment. Never done before.

The Senate is now a legislative body in gridlock with a 60 vote majority needed for even the most mundane legislation.

McConnells legacy

I measure success by what a person has accomplished, not by what they have blocked and sat on their hands.

McConnell is the worst leader I've seen in a while, and I've seen a few failed leaders in my 20 plus years in the Navy.
You're the one who was too scared to go to a USO in a friendly port, right?

I don't want to hear about your military heroism, really!

Was never scared to go to a USO while overseas. Just said that I kept my head on a swivel and watched for anything suspicious. And yeah, there WAS a USO that got bombed that I had been to just a couple of weeks before. By the way Meathead, how many years did you serve?
FFS, stop trying to use your military service for legitimacy. It is at once cowardly and obnoxious. What you said was said, in this case because Reagan had a strong foreign policy.

Stop being such a coward and a prick!

Got it, you never served nor have you ever had to put your ass on the line for this country. Yes, I DID say that going to the USO (among other places where US servicemembers hung out) made me nervous and that I had to keep my head on a swivel and look out for things that might be out of place. Why? Because I didn't want to get blown up, which is what was happening when Reagan was pissing off a lot of other countries. Reagan sucked, and I have no problem saying that, as I served under his crappy leadership. Are you pissed that I served and you didn't? Is that why you denigrate my service?
Your service no. Your cowardice yes.

Gridlock is good. They don't get to pass stupid shit.

Was never necessary before McConnell
The Senate worked, bipartisanship worked, bills got passed

McConnell changed all that.....He poisoned the well

Do you remember why instituting the nuclear option was even necessary? If you need a refresher, here you go. Hint...Mitch McConnell is the final answer.

Mitch has moved the Senate in a direction that may be irreversible.
He has created a non-functioning legislative body.

Not what our founders envisioned
The only thing McConnell can do is what he is doing now. Put up a firewall to progressive Socialist insanity and get judges passed. His politics is not corrosive. It is just reported that way.

McConnell has poisoned the well

In denying Merrick Garland a hearing and fast tracking Amy Barrett’s confirmation he has destroyed any chance of working with Democrats

Why did you bring up his service? Why not brag about yours?

Well if it wasn't necessary then Reid did you Dems a fierce bad turn. LOL

Oh and when Reid used it, it was necessary, when McConnell uses it he poisoned the well.

Man are you an idiot.

Reid reacted to McConnells obstructionism on appointments. McConnell was warned of the consequences and continued his act

Yeah and Reid sure screwed your Dem ass. McConnell merely used what Reid provided.

Sucks to be you Dem idiots. Oh and have no fear. If the Dems take the Senate they will use it as well. Oh and you will love it then. In fact you will see it as the greatest tool they could have.

Gridlock is good. They don't get to pass stupid shit.

Three thousand people dying a day and McConnell presides over a Gridlocked Senate

The Senate has nothing to do with people dying. If you want to blame someone, blame the Chinese for not locking their country down.

You really are an idiot.

COVID relief to not just citizens but communities sat for six months while McConnell sat on it.

That is the gridlock that you love. Let people suffer for McConnells political gain

No. The Senate sent it back so the Dems could take the pork out of it. Had it been the stand alone relief bill they asked for the Senate would have passed it.

You can blame that gridlock on your greedy Dem buddies. People suffered because of Pelousy and the Dems try for political gain.

The Senate has changed. McConnell is responsible

It now takes 60 votes for all legislation. SCOTUS is majority rules. A sitting President cannot make appointments if the Senate is an opposition party. Bipartisanship is officially dead

Senate no longer functions
