MTG has a lot of time on her hands now that she has no Committee Assignments. Instead of working on behalf of her constituents, she's spending the time in the gym, posting videos of her workouts, saying and doing stupid things, and seeking more publicity.

Politics is all about working on behalf of your constituents so that they have the tools they need to succeed, business has a supportive infrastructure, and there is peace and security in the nation.

Good governance is really fucking boring. Nobody fights. We have elections. Install the winners. They legislate the agenda we voted for, and we get the government we want. If we don't they vote them out of office the next election, and if they really fuck us over, we end the party.

Republicans would NEVER have been re-elected after W destroyed the economy. It took conservatives in Canada more than 20 years to get a conservative majority government elected in Canada, after the Progressive Conservative Party of Brian Mulroney gifted us with NAFTA, and an 8% VAT, in 1992.

Our politicians aren't idealogues, they're business managers. They're managing the business and infrastructre of the nation, and they fucking well work for us. They're the people we hire and choose, to keep our country running on an even keel, not to undo everything we voted for and refuse to carry out our wishes, like Republican have been doing since Reagan.

The vast majority of Americans want:

• a tax code which rewards work over wealth
• quality education for their children
• affordable health care
• sensible gun laws
• justice for all
• safety and security for themselves and their families

The Republican Party voted against money for working families during the pandemic. Against any kind of background checks or restriction on large magazine AR weapons, gay marriage, and abortion rights - all of which are favoured by more than 60% of all Americans, including Republicans.

Instead they voted for lower taxes for corporations and billionaires while 8 million Americans fell into poverty, and end to Obamacare during a pandemic. They voted against the Voter Rights Act, and the Violence Against Women Act, and oppose gay marriage.

Socialists don't debate, they rely on the least impressive in media to promote them and tell you the citizen, that it is a great deal. Don't ask questions, just trust. Government always knows what is best for you and your future citizens.

Conservatives don't debate. They just push through their ideas, and when they fail utterly, the blame the Democrats for the Republican failures.

Tax cuts that make the rich, richer, and crash the economy on the heads of the poor.

Billions of dollars on border enforcement to their for-profit prison donors, nothing on prosecution of the billionaire employers, causes illegal immigration to surge to record numbers. Build that Wall. MORE ENFORCEMENT.

Democrats prosecute employers and illegal immigration goes down, cutting enforcement costs, and keeping employers from hiring illegals. Republican donors howl about the fines and the oversight, and Republican scream DEMOCRATS WANT OPEN BORDERS.

Politics is all about working on behalf of your constituents so that they have the tools they need to succeed, business has a supportive infrastructure, and there is peace and security in the nation.

So, AOC blocking Amazon from building in her district was to benefit them?

Amazon was going to hire the majority of their people from OUTSIDE her district?

Absolutely. She saved the neighbourhood. We did a similar thing with Walmart in our old Toronto neighbourhood, when they tried to build on the old Film Studio Property. Amazon was asking for $9 billion in free infrastructure to locate in New York.

The neighbourhood city would have had to build roads, subways, and transport systems to bring 25,000 people to and from work 3 times a day. As well as transportations system for the shipment of goods to and from the hub. The tax dollars to pay for the infrastructure would have come out of the pockets from the people in that neighborhood and their taxes would go up, because NYC told Amazon they didn't have to pay for it.

Not to mention, the construction of the campus would have displaced the current residents and businesses. And changed the entire character of one of the last working class neighborhoods in New York. The people who lived there now, would no longer be able to live there if Amazon moved in. They would be pushed further away from the lives they've always known, and would have received no little to no economic benefit for it.

In our neighbourhood, building a Walmart would replace high paying movie studio jobs (some of the highest paying blue collar jobs in the city), with minimum wage McJobs. The city had promised us when they closed the Studio, that we would not lose those good paying jobs. We fought that and won. A new movie studio went up on the property.

Not everything is about money, nor should it be. New York needs neighbourhoods which working people can afford to live in. These tax cuts for billionaires really are a race to the bottom for the American people.

This is a fantastic post. Unfortunately it's wasted on imbeciles who are desperate to stay stupid.
