Mao mart threatening to raise prices!

A few decades ago, and longer we were convinced by the elites and politicians that the service economy must replace the manufacturing/industrial economy. Look what that got us to. Wages are so wide apart depending on privilege of the employment. To get manufacturing to return we must try thongs. And Tariffs are one of the ideas.

We place tariffs on China and the manufacturing gets move to Vietnam.

How does that help?

We know what progs do. They just pass legislation and print up the fiat currency.

We did that by the boatload under Trump also. He yelled for more.

Who cares if people suffer with the inflation caused. And all of their special interests got paid off. The Founding fathers told us what would happen. Corruption, graft, stealing and other synonyms for each compounded and we got what we have seen.

You are advocating to increase inflation with tariffs.

Tariffs is a blunt instrument that actually hurts to use....but it's probably the only channel to returning American manufacturing....unless that is no longer possible.

So what? They will be forced to compete again?
Considering the distance between them and their nearest brick and mortar competitor I'm surprised that DOJ hasn't targeted them as a virtual monopoly. Only Amazon gives them a run for teir money and they tend to use China about as much as Walmart does.

Buy American.... Sure you'll pay a little bit more upfront but you won't have to buy that item again 6 months from now. Additionally when you spend your money locally it benefits your local economy in ways that you may not see immediately.

Now I'm not telling you that I don't go to Walmart.... They've become pretty good with their grocery section. But when it comes to durable goods like appliances or tools even their best offering pales in comparison to a genuinely American manufactured product. Something that's getting harder and harder to find these days.

You say you're worried about global warming? Every time you purchase a good manufactured in China you're tossing another 25 lb of CO2 up a smokestack. Not that global warming matters
That much. Just saying...
Damn that Biden inflation. It is like long covid. Just can't get rid of the stuff anymore.

Not sure, but I know pretty soon someone won't be buying up all the jalapenos, cilantro, and tortillas.

There seems to be a run on those items lately.
The local Wally World Mart has a freezer bunker they use for crab legs.....A guy that works there in that department says they put the crab legs out in the middle of the night but there must be someone on the "inside" that calls and within an hour the lot is full of fuckin' West Virginians on the EBT fighting over them.

They have had to call the cops a couple of times and that was a year or so ago.

WV is a beautiful state but the people who occupy it are pretty much trash.....Virginia did not lose a damn thing when they left.
