Mao mart threatening to raise prices!

Next time, actually have something to say before responding.

That's not my fault that it's over your head.
And tariffs are going to fix this?

Look ... You're not really interested in this conversation...and I'm not interested in a contest. You have been given enough to see the issue. You will chose what you prefer. It's your prerogative.

As far as I know you can't by anything that lasts 40 years anymore.

My family is in the appliance business, though I haven't been a part of the company for decades I still get all the gossip and discussions. 3-5 years for a new Chinese made french door refrigerator that costs $3k or more.

Geezus that's horrible....

Trumps tariff war with the world will raise all prices

That is what we voted for, so stop complaining

I've asked you question after question on your position but that makes me not interested?

I've stated what will happen and asked you why it was a good thing but you can't seem to answer.

Why is raising the cost for already strapped families a good thing?

Sure, ultra low rates do that. I've condemned that but we are discussing how tariffs are supposed to help. You are advocating a double hit to costs.

You're advocating staying in the boiling pot...
Go to sleep then little froggy...it's too inconvenient to wake up.

I have never shopped at that craphole. I used to use their bathroom when traveling, but I don't even do that any more. Hell, I don't even go in their parking lot.

Same goes for Dollar Tree and Dollar General. The first thing that sticks out in Dollar Tree is the carpet full of all kinds of crap. Get a sweeper out.

Dumb people still insist that walmarx sells the same thing as everyone else. Sure, go ahead and buy your Levis with half the rivets as normal. I'm sure your pants will hold up. Sure, go ahead and buy that fishing pole that's dubbed "Ugly Stick" like so many others. I'm sure baking it in an oven no hotter than your kitchen appliance means it's the same thing.

Those Levi's are still made overseas regardless the number of rivets.

Wrong application....tariffs are a stop gap to wealth diffusion. We are already paying more as Creppy just demonstrated. There's no way out using the status quo....the lost value in accrued man hours is decades in the making...either have the pain now or later. Later you might not be able to fix it. Hard to say.

Actually I'm not. I'm simply asking you to explain your position.

Why is hitting people with higher costs a good thing?

Why do you never question politicians?

Lol.... The cost is already there. It's simply in different terms. You're not looking for an answer because I've already given it to you several times.

How does tariffs fix any of this?

How does tariffs fix any of this?

Fix? Small word with an unlimited potential.
It's only a beginning. The problem is 50 years in the making....not going to go away overnight
However doing nothing is also a loser.

What if what you want is not manufactured in the USA....You do know that Mexico is our largest partner and much is made there.
A few decades ago, and longer we were convinced by the elites and politicians that the service economy must replace the manufacturing/industrial economy. Look what that got us to. Wages are so wide apart depending on privilege of the employment. To get manufacturing to return we must try thongs. And Tariffs are one of the ideas. We know what progs do. They just pass legislation and print up the fiat currency. Who cares if people suffer with the inflation caused. And all of their special interests got paid off. The Founding fathers told us what would happen. Corruption, graft, stealing and other synonyms for each compounded and we got what we have seen.

I don't advocate doing nothing. I just wish those who promote tariffs would be able to tell us why.

Well, maybe the EBT crowd won't buy-up all the crab legs.

Not sure, but I know pretty soon someone won't be buying up all the jalapenos, cilantro, and tortillas.

There seems to be a run on those items lately.
