Many of Trump’s early actions are unpopular, Post-Ipsos poll finds

It's the nature of our politics.... We will always have more energy to be divided than United.
I have often wondered why we couldn't get a candidate for president that pulled 70% of the voting public.... After some interactions with knowledgeable posters here both sympathetic and unsympathetic I have come to the conclusion that 52 to 53% is the ultimate pinnacle for any politician to succeed in the United States. That means that roughly half of the country will be irreversibly fraught with antipathy in the aftermath of a political loss. We are more or less stuck with this results for as long as we remain in the system that we have. Don't know if a better one. It creates my team against your team spirit.... We are no longer interested in the benefit of the whole only in the victory of the team.
Maybe, but there’s nothing wrong with our system, and if you’re looking to this board to make conclusions about the American electorate then you are not getting an accurate picture.

Oh I agree... The people who post here including you and I are an exception to the rule for sure. We are a very small percentage for willing to engage, discuss and debate. I think it's an invaluable and in dispensable pot of anyone's personal politic..... Unfortunately most people want nothing to do with such things.

Are Trump's Approval Ratings Dropping? HA HA HA HA ... No.

Rachel Maddow just proved once again that she’s the most dishonest person on TV.

She cherry-picked two polls to claim Trump’s approval rating is taking a nosedive while ignoring all the ones showing that the American people still support him.

“Less than a month ago, it looked okay for him. Now it looks terrible for him,” Maddow mocked.

In reality, 6 of the 10 major polls show Trump with a positive approval rating, putting him 1.4% above water overall.

Yet Maddow chose two of the worst ones to deliberately mislead her viewers.

yes, he's cleaning up washington to install his own private swamp.
A huge majority of Americans approve of what Trump and Musk are doing with the "Swamp"! They know that the Federal Government is wasteful and bloated. They also know that nobody else has had the stones to take on that bloat and corruption. Trump and Musk are doing something I never thought I'd ever see and I couldn't be happier.

Ratings at MSNBC and CNN continue to tank and it's because people are sick and tired of being lied to by the likes of Rachel Maddow. They don't even do it well. Rachel's just cashing a paycheck...a paycheck that her network can't afford anymore.

They do not care about ratings.
They care about the narrative
They do their shows for each other and for the invites to the right parties. with the right people.

No, they are going up, and it is Trump going down.

Many of Trump’s early actions are unpopular, Post-Ipsos poll finds
Reviews from Americans on Trump’s second term are mixed to negative, and 57 percent say he has exceeded his authority since taking office.

Board System Asks: Is this already being discussed? I answer "Not that I know of. I've searched. I've seen this article posted as a reply or something in a Putin thread. Not sure wtf that was about.

So, drum-roll please...🥁🥁🥁

President Donald Trump has opened his second term with a flurry of actions designed to radically disrupt and shrink the federal bureaucracy, but reviews from Americans are mixed to negative on many of his specific initiatives, and 57 percent say he has exceeded his authority since taking office, according to a Washington Post-Ipsos poll.
Updated: February 20, 2025 at 8:45 a.m. EST today

Interesting is this: Overall, 43 percent of Americans say they support what the president has done during his first month in office, with 48 percent saying they oppose. Those who strongly oppose outnumber those who strongly support by 37 percent to 27 percent. Much of what Trump is doing with his so-called shock & awe attacks through a flurry executive orders, is strongly opposed by American citizens.

The president’s supporters applaud him for deporting undocumented immigrants and cutting government waste. Those unhappy with the direction he is taking the country say they fear Trump is allowing billionaire Elon Musk to dismantle critical government programs.

In their first 100 days in office (a fairly new benchmark), Presidents have been know to overreach. Also, they've been known to overestimate the support from the America public for themselves personally, and for their policies.

Trump’s honeymoon is over
New polling shows Trump’s approval ratings declining — and a number of major warning signs appearing.

snippet:

President Donald Trump came into office claiming a sweeping and historic mandate, but that was always oversold.
Trump’s win was relatively modest, historically speaking. And while his approval rating upon taking office reached a new all-time high for him — around 50 percent — his “honeymoon” phase still paled in comparison with every modern president not named Trump.

And now, after one month in office, whatever honeymoon (and mandate) Trump enjoyed appears to be slipping away.
Multiple polls this week have shown his approval rating dropping into more normal territory for him, in the mid-40s. And a new Washington Post-Ipsos poll crystallizes a number of warning signs for Trump’s agenda of drastic and legally dubious change.

Indeed, Americans seem to be quite concerned by how far Trump is going, and most of his signature policies and initiatives appear to be quite unpopular — especially those spearheaded by billionaire Elon Musk.

I guess then based on the polls Trump won't get to run again in 2028.

And a month ago he was 4.5 points above water overall.

So it has worsened.

Are you not paying attention, John? Liberal pundits are getting let go at CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC & NBC like we've never seen before. Their ratings are in the crapper and they're being sued by dozens of people because of the lies they've told.

We are not talking about pundits' popularity but Trump's lack of it.
