Man who attacked Nancy Pelosi's husband gets life in prison

Although no one died, and everyone recovered, the man who broke into Nancy Pelosi's home and attacked her husband gets life in prison.

When given the chance to address the court prior to his sentencing, DePape, dressed in prison orange and with his brown hair in a ponytail, spoke at length about Sept. 11 being an inside job, his ex-wife being replaced by a body double, and his government-provided attorneys conspiring against him.

“I’m a psychic,” DePape told the court, reading from sheets of paper. “The more I meditate, the more psychic I get.”

He sounds crazier than a loon, but no sympathy will be given the mentally ill man because he attacked one of the most powerful democrats in the country

Let that be a lesson to the rest of ya.
He beat an 80 year old man in the head with a HAMMER jackass

And he did it based on insane right wing politics

You defend this?

Wow two people who are upset Paul Pelosi wasn't murdered.

What can I say?

They are perfect MAGA.

Just sad and pathetic.
Sick … violent… assholes

AGAIN NO

My question is, why does he get life in prison while another loon murders someone else who is not a political elite and walks free after, especially after a myriad of felonies in the past?

I never suggested they should

I would just like them to show that they value average Americans as much as they do the corrupt political elites in DC like the queen of insider trading, Nancy Pelosi.

In fact, I will give another example. The women shot dead at the Capital on January 6th. The woman was unarmed and the policeman that shot her was instantly crowned a hero by the media and the politicians. No investigation was ordered and his name was kept from the public as to protect him and his family.

But that is not what happens for the average US citizen, is it? People can raid a CVS, for example, and if a policeman so much shoots someone of a different race then the media plasters the name of the officer all over the media as his family gets death threat after death threat and they are investigated for months, sometimes without pay as they are charged with being a racist monster.
Yeah yeah yeah. It's all so unfair. I suggest you stick to crying into your beer on some message board and shelve your desire for political violence until you're 75 or so. That way you won't do much time.

So, you admit that the public servants are more important that the people they supposedly serve

Thanks for that.

More important? No. More vulnerable to attacks? Yes.

Everybody recovered?

A jury found DePape guilty in June of false imprisonment of an elder by violence or menace, residential burglary, threatening a family member of a public official, dissuading a witness by force or threat and aggravated kidnapping.

The Pelosi family said in a statement Tuesday that the sentencing in the state case gives Paul Pelosi "some measure of legal justice, and, we hope, a message to others that political violence against elected officials or their family members will not be tolerated, minimized or condoned."

In a letter to San Francisco County Judge Harry Dorfman released by the Pelosi family, Paul Pelosi detailed how the attack affected him and his family while requesting that DePape receive the maximum sentence possible. He said he has continued physical and mental impacts -- including trouble balancing and headaches nearly every day -- and that his family was "traumatized" by the attack.

Imagine that Mr. Pelosi was your dad. Now STFU.
You folks talk about “the Deplorables “

Well there are several on this thread including the OP (and most particularly StupidIrishBitch)

Are you suggesting we all get a Secret Service detail?
I'm suggesting that the penalties at least match.

I am very much interested to see how the attempted assassin of Kavanagh will be treated.

It better be life in prison is all I can say or we have a very big problem here, don't you agree?

Oh her husband and herself ought to be joining him soon..

So the guy that shot at Trump and nicked his ear should simply face an aggravated assault charge?

trump will pardon him.

Not at all. I'm just perplexed why he got life in prison when murderers and child rapists are let back out onto the streets

This does not trouble you in the least, does it.
I agree. Why is Trump not in prison?
