Why are you such a ******?
Easy Pickins. You sorta just proved his point
You want to compare apples to oranges. Is DePape's sentence outside the sentencing guidelines? He killed someone and almost immediately let go.
Now compare that with the Pelosi incident. No one died and he gets life in jail.
Both assailants seem to have been out of their minds.
Nonsense. Find the money to hire a competent legal team. That's the only thing that makes a difference. Before anybody fights anyone you must obtain their political affiliation first as it will greatly and gravely effect the outcome of any legal proceedings
Go big or go home, eh? Makes sense. Crooks didn't get so lucky either. He should have finished it given the punishment

Although no one died, and everyone recovered, the man who broke into Nancy Pelosi's home and attacked her husband gets life in prison.
When given the chance to address the court prior to his sentencing, DePape, dressed in prison orange and with his brown hair in a ponytail, spoke at length about Sept. 11 being an inside job, his ex-wife being replaced by a body double, and his government-provided attorneys conspiring against him.
“I’m a psychic,” DePape told the court, reading from sheets of paper. “The more I meditate, the more psychic I get.”
He sounds crazier than a loon, but no sympathy will be given the mentally ill man because he attacked one of the most powerful democrats in the country
Let that be a lesson to the rest of ya.
Everybody recovered?![]()

Easy Pickins.
Ok, now compare that to being shot dead.Everybody recovered?
A jury found DePape guilty in June of false imprisonment of an elder by violence or menace, residential burglary, threatening a family member of a public official, dissuading a witness by force or threat and aggravated kidnapping.
The Pelosi family said in a statement Tuesday that the sentencing in the state case gives Paul Pelosi "some measure of legal justice, and, we hope, a message to others that political violence against elected officials or their family members will not be tolerated, minimized or condoned."
In a letter to San Francisco County Judge Harry Dorfman released by the Pelosi family, Paul Pelosi detailed how the attack affected him and his family while requesting that DePape receive the maximum sentence possible. He said he has continued physical and mental impacts -- including trouble balancing and headaches nearly every day -- and that his family was "traumatized" by the attack.

Paul Pelosi attack: David DePape sentenced to life in prison in state trial
David DePape was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison without the possibility of parole in the state trial over the hammer attack against Paul Pelosi.abcnews.go.com
Imagine that Mr. Pelosi was your dad. Now STFU.
Imagine that Mr. Pelosi was your dad.
If the jury thought it was appropriate to try to ensure public officials aren't attacked, Repub or Dem, it's a good thing..............nitwit.Ok, now compare that to being shot dead.
Not really a comparison, is it?
You correctly mentioned why he got such a sentence though. It was to protect the political elite from future attacks.

Merrick Garland says the sentence is a WARNING to anybody contemplating political violence.Ok, now compare that to being shot dead.

Tell me why we should tolerate political violence?Like I said, they protect the political elite but could care less about the average citizen
Thanks for proving my point.
By they you must mean the jury.Like I said, they
I never suggested they shouldTell me why we should tolerate political violence?
You don't think because public officials have a much higher profile than average citizens they deserve to have their safety emphasized?I never suggested they should
I would just like them to show that they value average Americans as much as they do the corrupt political elites in DC like the queen of insider trading, Nancy Pelosi.
