Regardless of the biological basis for her gender at birth, it is clear that at some point Amy made the decision to become a female. I don’t know and don’t care if she got gender reassignment surgery. It is nowadays considered a simple courtesy to address her by the gender pronoun of her choice.

The penis/vagina aspects are determined in the womb, but not necessarily by the XX or XY chromosomes.
There can be additional hormone problems making the growth and chromosomes out of synch.
And if that were not complicated enough, then there is the fact that development between the time in the womb and puberty, can add entirely different hormone variations.
So I do not think the science is at all clear.
Chromosomes can be over ridden, hormone development can be influenced by food contamination, illness, etc., and it is not at all hard to have events 13 years apart, be out of synch.

There were a couple transgenders that competed in the last Olympics, any guess how they did?

One won a Gold medal and took the place of another real female. So three spots for women were taken by men. One finished fourth and another didn't medal because he failed to complete a few events. Well, if you had people like you hating on you and not accepting you and telling you that you were fucking nuts, you might have those same problems. As more people quit hating them for who they think they are, those problems become less of an issue. The same thing happened with gay people.

See, that's where your perception goes awry, most people don't 'hate' them, and rightfully saying they have a mental illness is not 'hating on them' either. What is most at issue is the bandwidth taken up in society to promote them as normal, forcing that notion on society at large. To think you're not going to have pushback is asinine, so instead of addressing it, you just label people as being 'hateful' and try to marginalize them instead.
