That's 95% to the Left.

Have I mentioned that you are a dunce?

Okay I'm going to say this one more time. I hate the unions and I don't belong to mine. So try again.

Why would I care what you claim about you're cognitive dissonance????

I've proven....more than once, now, that the profession that you claim to belong to is simply one more iteration of Leftism.

They represent the Left, financially support the Left, and indoctrinate students to be Leftists.

There is a lot of truth in this sentiment:

"If we are unable to take back the schools, all is for naught."
Weeping For The Wolf Pack??

But.....what if we just put them out of business????

4. Although homeschoolers only currently make up about 3.4 percent of the total student population, homeschooling is a shining example of what education freedom can deliver.
...homeschoolers fare much better than their public school counterparts. After examining a compilation of nationwide studies, Dr. Brian Ray of the National Home Education Research Institute revealed that, “The homeschooled have consistently scored in these studies, on average, at the 65th to 80th percentile on standardized academic achievement tests in the United States and Canada, compared to the public school average of the 50th percentile.”

Education is no longer the mission of government schooling.

Copy and paste.
As always.

It is such a compliment to me and my posts that the best you dolts can do is carp about the manner of presentation, never able to dispute the ideas in my threads.

I'd say 'don't ever change,' but we both know you can't.

We did and quite well but all you did was post regurgitated information and name-call. Oh, and foist logical fallacies. And then declared victory over the thread. Yay, homeschooling!

I predict more:

1. Name calling
2. Information dump copied and pasted
3. Logical fallicies

Prove me wrong?

I have proven you wrong, twice? Thrice?

"Information dump copied and pasted"

This is what has happened to education...you being the exemplar of same......when I provide proof in the form of links, quotes and documentation, you've been trained to ignore same simply by using the phrase "Information dump copied and pasted."

What a moron you must be not to recognize that those items verify the content of my posts.

You may learn better if you ever go to college.

Every teacher's union is no more than a mouthpiece for the Left/Liberals/Democrats

"Teachers unions have steadily amped up their political involvement: From 2004 to 2016, their donations grew from $4.3 million to more than $32 million -- an all-time high. Even more than most labor unions, they have little use for Republicans, giving Democrats at least 94 percent of the funds they contributed to candidates and parties since as far back as 1990, where our data begins."

Those first two words in your post......fact not in evidence.

"You don't have to attack every teacher you meet by calling them a "dunce"
I don't....I use the term judiciously, for those, like you, who deny the facts.

How about you simply admit
a. teacher's unions are joined at the hip to Democrats/Liberals
and
b. vast amounts of indoctrination for Leftism takes place in government school

....then we can more on.

One thing to keep in mind about schools (and non-schools, in the case of home-schooled students) is that what comes out of them is strongly correlated to what goes into them.

If you took the incoming Freshman (Freshperson?) class at Harvard and had them work on a farm in Massachusetts for four years (no formal classes at all), they would still be "better educated" at the end of four years than their contemporaries at State College. Why? Because the selection process at Harvard ensures that you START WITH a superior group of students...which ensures that you will FINISH WITH a superior group of students, regardless. They will not be spending that four years playing video games, or hanging out at the local pool hall.

The statistical success of "home schooling" is largely a function of the fact that the students are children of parents who care and are engaged in the education process. They are not a random sampling of student-age children, as the students in Government Schools are.

The same is true of private school children, charter school children (generally), and parochial school children. Not a random sampling.

Sooo....your point it that parents who use government schools don't care about their kids???

We've used K12 for years.....it's free in many states.

By the way that last quote is a polemic of conservatives that is so hyperbolic it's ridiculous. It's in fact stupid. And I say this as a conservative.

Okay your continued ad hominems do not offend me but they're a huge time waster, and since my school year starts in a few weeks, I'm about to get busier and not willing to waste my time on really, really bad arguments. So if you keep it up, this will be the last time I respond to you in this thread.

I know public school teachers that are anything but liberals. My problem with homeschooling is the lack of social interaction and challenges. School dances,

dealing with bullies, field trips, team sports, etc....I have no doubt kids can learn the academics before from a good homeschooler. I know this one woman,

have quite a few kids, she homeschools, and all the kids are very smart and all can play an instrument well. However, they're starved for social

interaction.

Home is a protected environment, public school is not. You'll never have 8 mini-black kids jump you out back of the gymnasium at home, at least I hope not.

A big friend of mine that was on the football team saw what was going on and came and helped me out. I was going down!

To be fair most homeschooling families belong to many consortiums or other groups where the kids get plenty of social interaction. They also usually belong to youth sports groups, music groups, etc. In the early 90s when I first began teaching homeschoolers were much more isolated. I don't see that being so much a problem now.

With the advent of all these "online schools", the quality of homeschooling is going to go down. Homeschooling has always been a place for highly involved and motivated parents to educate their children, and that's PART of the reason they do so well. You needed to be motivated because you were your child's teacher--finding and building curriculum, delivering instruction. Now, with online schools, you don't need to do that. If you have a child say, 12 and older, you can leave your child alone all day long with an "online school". That is going to bring the quality and the stats down too.

Homeschoolers had better look out for that. But I don't care one way or the other if they do. See PoliticalChic's polemics and her calling me a "dunce" over and over on this thread because--well, I don't know why, presumably because I'm a public school teacher.

Oh, here's another aspect of homeschooling too: more and more parents are using "homeschooling" to hide abuse from school officials. See: the lesbian couple with all those children in CA who drove them off the cliff to their death. It's not a huge proportion, of course, but it's growing. The homeschoolers are handling this like they handle everything: by screeching about how wonderful homeschooling is to anyone who will listen. And even people who won't.

Wise up, you dunce.

I really hope you don't plan to teach your children logical argumentation or any kind of logic whatsoever, because although I was not a philosophy major, I can tell you this is a massive fail on even a basic level.

1. Anecdotes don't condemn an entire system

2. Ad hominems do not arguments make

Unless you mean to show them how to lose arguments--in which case you're doing quite well.

I really hope you are able to stick closer to the truth in the future.

To deny that the teaching profession is held tightly in the grip of Liberalism, Incorporated, a diaphanous lie.

Really????

"The California Federation of Teachers (CFT) passed a resolution at its most recent convention claiming that “the continued unjust incarceration of Mumia Abu-Jamal represents a threat to the civil rights of all people.” Thirty years ago, Abu-Jamal took away Philadelphia policeman Daniel Faulkner’s foremost civil right: his life. How obtuse of the CFT to disregard “the threat to the civil rights of all people” represented by someone capable of gunning down a man tasked with protecting the public.

The pantheon of leftist saints includes the Haymarket Square bombers, responsible for the deaths of eight Chicago cops, Joe Hill, murderer of former police officer John Morrison in Salt Lake City, Huey Newton, murderer of Oakland policeman John Frey, and Leonard Peltier, murderer of FBI agents Jack Coler and Ronald Williams. Try not to appear such a dope in the future.....do your best.

Okay your continued ad hominems do not offend me but they're a huge time waster, and since my school year starts in a few weeks, I'm about to get busier and not willing to waste my time on really, really bad arguments. So if you keep it up, this will be the last time I respond to you in this thread.

You won't find me defending the teacher's unions--I can't stand them. I don't belong to mine.

"...so if you keep it up, this will be the last time I respond to you in this thread."

I've proven everything I posted...

a. homeschooled kids are far better educated than government school kids.

b. the teaching profession is simply a subsidiary of Liberalism, Inc.

Now....don't let the door hit ya' on the way out.

I have as well....it's the union leadership that is way Liberal.

"My problem with homeschooling is the lack of social interaction and challenges. School dances,"

That's a myth.

"Do Homeschoolers Have Equal Access to Public School Sports?
Currently, 22 states give homeschoolers the right to some type of access to classes or sports. These include Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, and Wyoming. Read more information about state laws on HSLDA’s legal summaries pages.1

In states that do not have a specific statute or regulation mandating equal access, individual schools and school districts have the authority to determine whether homeschoolers can participate in public school activities. Policies often vary from district to district. In some cases, districts that would like to allow access are restricted from doing so by the high school athletic association's bylaws."

Au contraire.

Several of my friends are public school teachers, and far from dunces.

You are, because you refuse to accept these truths:
a. teacher's unions are joined at the hip to Democrats/Liberals
and
b. vast amounts of indoctrination for Leftism takes place in government school
