Majority of Greenlanders favor Trump’s plan to join US: Poll

Offer safe passage to ambitious Canandians and you will gain a mass of Canadians too I imagine. People want opportunity and a Constitution that ensures accountability for abuses by the state and any of their criminal actors and apparatuses. MSN
While I am still familiarizing myself with all the dynamics involved in Greenland becoming part of the USA, I have read that Greenland has the right to declare autonomy and independence from Denmark any time they choose. So if that should happen and the people then agree to become a U.S. territory with the possibility of becoming a U.S. state, why would we need to buy it? Wouldn't all we need is a vote from Congress to accept it as a U.S. territory?

Greenland needs people...this is a win/win.

Then annex them as states. If these folks want the benefits of association with the US, then take the big leap and become states. Pure and simple. Statehood foreign nation, no third option.
It takes more than them. It takes the US as well. I believe Puerto Rico has already approved statehood.

Both California and NY contribute significantly more in taxes than they receive

It is red states that lead in receiving more than they put in
LOL. I see what you're saying. You're saying that the rich in those states are already paying their fair share.

In a non-binding vote last November the numbers were roughly…

Statehood - 60%
Free Association - 30%
Independence- 10%

My issues… NON-binding vote and the free association option.

Non issue because Republicans will not allow either DC or Puerto Rico to become states

I think Greenland is playing like a free agent.

Denmark provides many social programs but Greenland feels disrespected. They will use the threat of allying with the US to get better treatment.
It's a good strategy...but I think they're leaning USA...if for no other reason than the tourism.

Currently tourism to Greenland is expected to be 90,000.

The number of Americans who visit Alaska per year is three MILLION...mostly by cruise ship.

If Greenland was part of the US... I'd go... 100%.

Greenland, the world’s largest island, is roughly three times the size of Texas but has only about 57,000 residents. In the first three quarters of 2022, it attracted just under 55,000 visitors, according to Visit Greenland, the national tourism authority, and nearly 37,000 of them came from Denmark. Only 2,430 Americans visited Greenland in that period.

I agree with that.

And I wouldn't go to Greenland today.

But if it was a US protectorate, with all the legal rights and freedoms that accompany that designation...I absolutely would.

I'm one of those Americans that has very little interest in setting foot on foreign soil.

And I'd say I'm in the majority.

Forty percent have never left the US.

If you subtract veterans who deployed overseas and visitors to only Canada or Mexico... I'm sure we're actually looking at more like 60%.

Having Greenland become a territory would be a win win for Greenland residents and the US….so most lefty cult fucks will oppose it.
What exactly would benefit Americans by using our tax dollars to fund social welfare in Greenland for the benefit of the private multinational corporations (based in America), who would be the beneficiaries from any leases to their resources? :dunno: Can any MAGAt explain that to me? We don't have nationalized energy companies in America.

You should be outraged by MNCs raping Africa of their natural resources for slave wages, you sock puppet fraud.

Who says I can't be both? Do you understand what a strawman is, intellectual midget? :dunno:

Iceland is great for tourism, Greenland is not as scenic and lacks cities

If you want to go to Greenland today, nothing is stopping you

There are 60,000 people in Greenland, mostly Inuets
It is nothing to support them.
The key is we want to steal their natural resources
