I believe the Catholics are the only group that believes in confession. Other Christian organizations don't believe in having confession. At one time the Catholics believed it was a sin to eat meat on Friday during lent. Others didn't believe in that. They believed in different things.

That if you believe in something religiously, you fund it yourself.

So people who believe in mandatory funding for medical care by taxing
can organize that, while others can continue investing taxes and resources into military defense.

Why not have both?

Both Catholics and Protestants fund their own programs without conflict.
They don't go to Congress and try to "vote out" the other group so that
THEIR administration and programs get everyone's funding to go there!

Why not set up equal tax alternatives for people who want to support
A. mandatory military training and service
B. mandatory medical training and service
So you can direct certain tax allotments to the branch of your choice.

Where we AGREE to fund as taxpayers, SURE, that can STILL be mandatory federal policy.

Where we DISAGREE can be delegated to State or county levels,
or relegated to party precincts if we need to separate and organize
funding that way to avoid conflicts over beliefs such as prolife/prochoice
or paying for the death penalty vs hospitals or public schools vs. charter.

Dem's tried and failed, it went down in flames with over 60% of the people voting no. This after Dem's went so far as to promise to steal the wealth from the rich and gift every dime to the poor and middle class. It still failed because its theft and wrong, voters told Dem's to shove the wealth tax up their ass.
